Azazel arrived at Detective Decker's house short after their call ended. She had hailed a taxi and pressured the driver into breaking several traffic laws in the hopes of getting there in time to stop the detective from making any rash decisions. The door was still open and getting to the living proved to be close to an obstacle course: there was broken glass on the floor, chairs bolted, random pieces of cloth... There had been a struggle, most likely between Mazikeen and Belial, and considering that Trixie was missing and Mazikeen was unconscious, Belial had won it.

Detective Decker was standing next to the sofa, arms crossed and staring at Mazikeen, who was sleeping it off there.

"Hey, any news?" Azazel asked.

"None, I just barely got Maze to the sofa," Chloe said. She tied her hair into a low ponytail and caught some rogue strands that had been bothering her. "I'm hoping once she wakes up she might tell us where to find Belial." She walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. She drank with a sigh. "She's heavier than she looks."

"The weight of eons of sins," Azazel offered, "That or the muscle."

Chloe nodded but didn't even crack a grin. She was worried. Worried about what Belial might be doing to Trixie. She hadn't once made eye contact with Azazel and she was tapping the bottle absentmindedly. She was trying to gather her thoughts and questions, and even though she was trying, she couldn't help but think about the same thing over and over.

"Detective, I'm sure Trixie is alright," Azazel said softly, thinking the detective was just concerned about her daughter.

"How can you be sure?" The detective said putting the bottle down. She sounded more daring than worried, and she finally had looked at the young celestial, but where Azazel was expecting a pleading look, she found a glare.

Because he doesn't want her. Azazel held her tongue this time. Her reasoning wouldn't be comforting for anyone. She couldn't casually tell the detective to not worry as she was actually the one Belial wanted to kill, not her child.

Mazikeen woke up jumping off the sofa and giving some kind of battle cry, looking for Belial but finding only Chloe and Azazel. "Where is he?" She demanded with such a fury that Azazel was glad it wasn't directed at her.

"Gone. He took Trixie," the detective said.

"He took Trixie?" Mazikeen repeated, "He's dead."

"That is the plan," Azazel said, "But we need to find him first."

"I already told you how to find him," spat Mazikeen, "Why haven't you catch him yet?"

"I was kind of busy getting shot."

"Wait, you'd already talked to Maze?" Detective Decker intervened, sounding close to fed up.

"Yeah, and I sent her to you, apparently," Maze said crossing her arms.

"Why did you come to talk to Maze?" The detective asked, "You didn't know her."

"What?" Azazel said annoyed.

"And how did you know Belial was here in the first place?" She continued.

"I told you. I had a feeling."

"Yes, but why Belial? You knew it was him." Chloe waited for Azazel to answer, giving her the last benefit of the doubt she could grant her. When she didn't, Chloe had no other choice but to ask what she really wanted to know. "Did you call him here?"

"What? No! God, no. Why the Hell would I call him? No!"

"Then how did you know?"

"I just did, okay?"

"How?"

"Can't you just trust me on this one?" Azazel pleaded. She didn't want to give Lucifer up, though that would solve all her problems: the detective would understand, Mazikeen would probably stop wanting to kill her, Lucifer would be able to help with Belial far better than she could... All this to protect a brother she had just met. "Please," she said when they weren't answering, "You know me."

"I don't," Mazikeen said.

Detective Decker shook her head and looked down. "I don't either," she said, "All I know is you were kicked out of Heaven... How can I trust you? They didn't. Maybe you deserved it."

Those words hurt more than Belial's bullet. "Detective..." she whispered.

Detective Decker's phone started to vibrate on the kitchen isle. She picked it up, not recognising the number. "Hello?" Detective Decker replied. She stayed in silence while the other person spoke, and she payed attention as if her life was in the line. "I'll be right there." She hung up and looked at them. "Belial has set a meeting place. He expects me to go alone."

"You're not going alone," Mazikeen said.

"Of course I'm not going alone. I'm not stupid."

"Let's go then," Azazel added.

But the detective stopped. "Azazel, you're not coming."

Azazel switched between looking at the detective and at Mazikeen for a couple of times. "Why."

"How can't I trust you if you hide things from me?"

"Detective, you just said you weren't stupid. Don't make me disagree. I understand if you don't trust me, but you might need me."

"I'm sorry."

They left without another word. Detective Decker didn't spare Azazel a glance, but Mazikeen glared at her for the two of them. Azazel pulled her phone out and texted Lucifer right away.

Azazel thought for sure her job there was done but then she read the single word that her brother texted back. She sighed and walked out of the house, ready to make sure the detective didn't die.
