Eve stares at herself in the mirror of her room as smile stretches on her lips. She hadn't went down stairs yet. She needed a moment. She was finally 20. 20 years old. She was officially an adult. It blew her mind. How someone as immature as her could be an adult. Her birthday dress was laid out on her bed. Jackie was letting her have friends over. In fact the girls wanted Eve to get with a boy who really really liked her.
She thought he was sweet. Very good looking but something was missing. He just wanted who she wanted. The door suddenly opens as Jackie peers inside. "Happy birthday love" she says kindly stepping inside "Thank you Jackie" Eve says as Jackie stands beside her looking in the mirror. Jackie gently plays with her hair.
"You know I've always wanted girls. Always. I used to be sad that I didn't have a daughter I didn't ever regret Johnny and Adam of course but I really wanted another female to be in the house with me. I can't tell if it was a coincidence or not but either way your my miracle and I love you as your were my own." Jackie says as her voice begins to break and tears form in her eyes
Eve fells her heart thud as tears form in her eyes. She went from feeling so unwanted. So unloved. Like not a single person in the world cared about her. Then Jackie and Martin saved her. "Jackie you saved me that day you appeared in the adoption centre. I remember that overwhelming feeling of shock when I discovered you decided to take me in. I thought I was dead. I thought this seems too good to be true for someone to actually love me. For someone to look after me as their own. Jackie you have done everything for me and I will always be so grateful for what you've done" Eve cries out
Jackie wraps her arms around Eve holding her tightly. Eve wraps her arms around Jackie back the mother she always longed for. She'd do anything for the goodmans. Maybe a crazy family at times but a loving family none the less. A kind family. One that will always be in her heart forever. "I can believe you've been with us for 5 years." Jackie cries
