I hope you enjoy. It literally made my day when someone commented! So Without further adieu, part Four!

James POV

I don't know why I was smiling, its not like I've never not been on Lily's bad side. I mean I don't think she likes me at all but it's not like we can't behave like civil human beings. She knows I really like her. I've asked her out a fair few times. I reckon the entire school knows.
I think I was smiling because she has that Lily fire about her. It has nothing to do with her hair, its this look she gets in her eye and this tone in her voice. It puts me over the edge. I'm crazy for her. I run to catch up to her after class.

"Lily!" I say. "Could I carry your books?"

"Have you gone insane?" She says in a sassy voice. "I wouldn't let you carry me books if my back was broken and I was crawling to safety."

I new she was going to say no, I just wanted to see that look in her eyes.

"Ok, later Evans" I say nonchalantly as I run of to catch up to Sirius, leaving her behind with a very surprised look on her face.

---------

Lily's POV

I was dumbstruck. James Potter didn't beg to carry my books, he didn't use a stupid pickup line. Who is he? He was almost.......pleasant.

I pushed that ridiculous thought out of my head. It was probably some sort of trick. I rushed off to my next class thinking only of charms.

Time skip - the next day.

We have a hogsmeade trip today. Alice is going with Frank and Marlene with Sirius. Ill be on my own, but I don't mind. It will be fun to have a moments peace. I am bringing along a book, just to keep me occupied.

I start down the stairs that lead to the main hall and out to the trail to hogsmeade. I decide to walk and read. I've done it before and nothing to disasteres has happened. I pull Hogwarts: A History out of my bag.

I'm almost done with a chapter on Salazar Slytherin, when I see the village up ahead. I tuck my book back into my bag and head to the Three Broom Sticks. I get my glass of butter beer and sit down at a corner booth.

I am quite enjoying this alone time when I here a voice that shatters it all.

"Whatcha doin Evans?" He says nonchalantly.

"Nothing" she say coldly.

"Could I sit?" He says ignoring her rudeness.

She rolls her eyes. "If you must."

"Thanks! I don't know how I could refuse after that gracious invitation." He jokes sitting across from her.

She rolls her eyes again. " Go find your other Marauder's to joke with, I'm busy.

"Uh uh, busy reading the book you've read a thousand times. I'm not buying it Evans. Besides all my friends are on dates." He says a bit annoyed.

"All except for the famous jock, flirt and bad boy that is James Potter." She says in a lofty tone.

"Either way Evans." He paused for a moment before adding. " Want to go to to Zonko's with me? Or the shrieking shack? And I promise I'm not asking you out. Just as friends." He said nervous.

I was confused. What was this change of mood with him. He's never nervous around me. Always claiming the room. Talking loudly and asking me out. Now not only is he nervous but he is NOT asking me out.

"Alright Potter. But just this once. And you owe me for tearing me away from my book." I say.

He smiles enormously. "Deal Evans."

--------------

So I'm debating if I should do the next chapter on there date that's not a date in Hogsmeade or just skip to what they thought of it. Comment what you think!
