James and Lily

Part 2

Lily POV
(She is walking back to the common room. Tears are falling down her cheeks.)

"Hey Evans" James said, he had just come out of a separate corridor.

"Leave me alone Potter." She says sniffing. Still walking

"Whoa, what's wrong Evans you usually tell me to go away with alot more sass than that." He says gently but with a hint of sarcasm. Jogging to keep up with her.

"None of your business. Just leave me alone." She picks up her pace even more.

"Is it Severus? I'm so sorry Lilly. He ran a hand through his hair."I provoked him."

"It's over now. See you later James."

"No, I'm not gonna let you run
away from me crying." He says firmly.

She stops abruptly and whips around to face him. "Since when did you really care Potter? All you care about is how your hair looks and if you've met your daily quota for terrorizing people." She wipes the remaining tears from her face, no longer crying.

"That's not all to who I am Lily." Please listen!" He says desperately as she turns and starts walking again.

"You sound just like Severus, begging me to understand I'm done with it. She walks away so fast he can't follow her.

She reaches the entrance to the common room. She mutters the password to the Fat Lady. "Horse hair" and walks straight to her dormitory, where her best friends are preparing for bed.

"There you are Lily! You've been in the library for hours! I was starting to worry. Are you ok? I know today has been hard." Alice said as she climbed into bed.

"Yeah, I ran into Severus on the way back from the library were I went after the whole blow up at the lake. Severus tried to apologise. She admitted as she came out of the bathroom in her night gown. She was exhausted.

"Oh I'm so sorry Lily." Alice said softly.

Lily sat on top of her bed thoughtfully. "I don't know what I'm going to do. I feel like I owe it to Severus to forgive him, after all he did introduce me to this world." She said gesturing to the castle. "But at the same time I just want to forget him, pretend like I never knew him, because when I think of all he has done for me I feel guilty."

"Lily, he was the one who said those terrible things about you. You shouldn't feel guilty." She said curling under the covers.

"Your right Alice. I'm exhausted, can I turn out the lights?"

"Feel free" said Alice who was already very ready to go to bed but had stayed awake to listen to her best friend.

"Goodnight Alice." Lily whispered as she turned out the light.
