On the evening of Saturday, Zoe was up in her room, speakers blasting loud and jamming along to her favourite songs while she danced around the room trying on different clothing. Aaron had texted her on Thursday to plan where to meet her and what time. Zoe had never heard of Johnny's Jam but apparently to Aaron it was extremely popular. The door opened at Andrew walked in and watched as his daughter danced to the Jackson 5, I Want You Back, and silently chuckled to himself before closing the door and walking out of her room. Zoe, completely unaware that someone had been watching her continued dancing, ecstatic about what the night would bring.
Finally, she had agreed to wear black jeans and a simple top with a jacket. Twirling around, Zoe looked in the mirror pleased with what she chose and nodded before heading out for the door.
"And where are you going?". Tori side-stepped in front of the door and raised an eye-brow at her younger sister.
"Um, well I'm going out?". Zoe nervously rubbed her arm and sawyed back and forth on her toes, waiting for Tori's answer.
"Where?".
"Johnny's Jam, Aaron invited me to watch his band perfo-".
"Aaron?"
Zoe sighed and started quickly explaining to Tori who Aaron was, making sure she repeated the part where Aaron was really nice and safe. Tori looked in between conflict with her self on whether or not she should let Zoe go. On the contrary, Zoe was basically begging her sister with large puppy dog eyes to let her go, and that's all it took for Zoe to persuade her sister.
"Fine. But be back before nine thirty, any later and you won't be allowed to...."
"To what?".
"I don't know! I'll think of your punishment later, but just go. Be careful, okay?".
Tori was new to the whole 'punishing' thing that parents did but she will probably google it once Zoe had left.
"Okay, got it".
Zoe walked out of the door at seven thirty to see Aaron just pull up on the kerb near her house. Aaron hadn't reall got his driver's license, not really because he nearly killed the poor instructor and so, the theory is that the instructor didn't want to be in the same car with Aaron anymore, and just gave him his license.
"Woah, you look awesome" Aaron hopped out of the car and his eyes widended as he looked at Zoe. Blushing, Zoe mumbled a quick thanks before Aaron opened the door to his car for her and she sat in.
"For the record, I've never done a gig before. So, my band kind of sucks" Aaron laughed as he started the ignition on the car and started to drive. He looked incredibly nervous as he clenched the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white.
"I doubt that. You're going to do fine" Zoe convinced Aaron and he didn't look so nervous anymore. Johnny's Jam was a small club, hugely popular among teenagers and would often be littered with empty beer bottles and cigarettes. Johnny, the owner of the club, was a middle-aged man who supported every band and artist, even if they did suck. The club used to be a cafe until there was a fire in the kitchen due to over-cooked cupcakes. After five years of renovation, Johnny's Jam had turned into the most fluorescent, craziest and loud club in London (well, not really)
"We have arrived!" Aaron declared as they pulled up to the full parking lot out the front of Johnny's Jam. A crowd of teenagers dressed in black or leather filed into the club, hooting and hollering. A sick filling errupted in the pit of Zoe's stomach as she saw the large crowd. Her head felt dizzy and her hands became wet with sweat and anxiety. She didn't notice Aaorn, who was still talking about Johnny and his band as he opened the door to the car for her.
