We were in a training room of sorts, there were dummies in the mat probably had springs under it, since it is very bouncy. Greely seemed to be looking at me in a mixture of amusement and annoyance, since I decided to act like a little kid, and jump on the bouncy mat.
Greely said, "Once you have decided to be a bit more mature please come a bit closer to me." I stopped bouncing, and over to him. He then continued, "Ok, I think the best way to do it, well, the only known way to do it, is to imagine yourself turning into a wolf. I think you can compare it to a werewolf."
Then eh closed his eyes, and a huge green circle of light appeared where he was, and he became this tiny ball light! The the light ball thing fell onto the circle, and a large blue wolf appeared. I closed my eyes, and tried to think about it. I really did! However, when I opened my eyes, I looked the exact same. Greely turned back into a human, and then he chuckled! In response, I was mature, and said, "Meanie." I pouted at my failure.
Greely didn't see disappointed, he said, "No one has ever done it on their first try, don't be upset. Were you think about the transformation, or a wolf?"
"A wolf," I replied.
Greely laughed, "That's your mistake, you don't know what you'll look like after the transformation. Not yet, at least. You also can't be a wolf without transforming, the journey is as important as the destination. Since you have never changed before, you should think about how you'll change. Your hands will turn into paws, you legs will grow shorter, and you'll rely on having four limbs to walk."
"OK," I replied. This time, I tried to think about the transformation, and werewolves. I wondered whether the transformation would change my instincts. Then there was a flash of green light, and then, when I looked around, everything was bigger. Or I was shorter. I brought a hand up to my face, to see it had become a white paw with beautiful blue patters. I looked up at Greely, to see him smile. He then turned into a wolf too, and I made what sounded like the wolf equivalent to a purr. His wolf form was dark blue, with a white underbelly. He had amulets on his paws, and overall looked exactly like the Greely from a game I used to play, except younger, and his fur looked more gray than blue.
Then I try to turn back into my normal form, and concentrated. When I changed back, I still had wolf ears, but no fangs. Greely said, "I think that is enough for now. You need to practice more today and tomorrow, and if you are good enough at staying in your wolf form, you can come to the town with me. It really is a sight to behold. Just watch out for the alphas, you don't want to tell them I'm Greely. While we're there, call me... Loki Noen."
