"Oh no. We're in trouble."
Nayeon whines, reaching out to slap her friend (unfortunately, with her poor motor skills and Jeongyeon's quick reflexes, she misses and ends up jabbing her finger against the seatbelt). She has to admit she's chaotic, especially when she's starving, but not to the point where she's willing to put herself and someone 124 years younger than her in danger. It's not like she got her driving license yesterday.
Jeongyeon shrugs and settles down in the backseat of the car, silently joined by Mina, once again on her Switch. She swears the younger girl's addicted to it. In fact, with how much she plays, it's amazing her contact lens are just for show.
Nayeon drums the steering wheel impatiently. On one hand, she can't wait to get out of the musty garage – it's full of dust and spiders and smells absolutely horrid. On the other, it's nice to know that she's not the one paying for dinner this time.
When she's just about had it with the waiting, Jihyo opens the car door and plops herself in the front passenger seat. Even Mina looks up at her arrival, bewildered by her heavy breathing. Her job as a teacher doesn't make her any less fit than the rest of them.
Nayeon breathes out an exasperated 'finally!' as she turns on the car engine. "You're always nagging us about being on time, and look at you now," she says smugly. "You're buying today."
Jihyo just rolls her eyes in response. She's too tired to fire back and besides, she already has an idea of Nayeon's driving abilities, so she needs the elder to focus on the road.
While she looks around for her phone, Jihyo catches sight of an unopened bottle of coconut water next to Mina and shakes her head.
"Mina, you haven't eaten anything for the last two days," she booms, her voice turning stern. "Stop acting like a child and at least drink some water."
"Mina's only 23," Nayeon interjects. "She's still a child."
Jeongyeon warns her about responsible driving (to which Nayeon rolls her eyes and responds 'It's not like we'll die') but the car still lurches around wildly, almost crashing into a tree in the process.
Amidst the chaos, Mina finally pauses her game and leans forward to interrupt the quarreling. "Can we stop by the cafe?"
"The cafe?" Jeongyeon frowns. "You can't drink coffee–oh, you're going again?"
Mina shrugs in response. "Unfortunately."
