Hi everyone its been so long! Many things have come to pass and I'd like  to think my writing has improved in some shape or form. Idk how many of you are still there but I hope all of you are doing well during these times. For whoever is coming back to this story, I hope you'll enjoy.

Kaneki's eyes were still closed, the sunlight hit his body through the bedroom window. Touka's eyes just kept staring at his fragile body. "Your being impatient." She looked behind her to see her uncle leaning against the wall having his eyes closed. "You're saying I can't be worried about him?!" She looked annoyed. "Those words didn't come out of my mouth, but he made it through the night which is a good sign." Touka looked back at Kaneki with eyes of worry. He put his hand over her shoulder seeing her concern for the person she loves. "I need to grab supplies for us, the coffee cubes won't be able to hold us out forever, stay low and inside until I get back." Touka's uncle put his hood on and began to walk toward the door. "Hinami, be strong for both your brother and sister." He smiled a bit rubbing her head. Hinami nodded, he took his hand off her head to open the door and closed the door behind him. Renji walked toward his car to head to the usual spot where Anteiku grabbed corpses down the cliff. Hinami locked the door and headed to toward the bedroom to check on her brother. "How's Onii-san?" she looked up at Touka. Touka looked at Hinami and smiled she knew she had to be strong for Hinami. "He's stable, his breathing is a lot more steady than when we first brought him here."  Hinami looked at Kaneki with eyes of worry but also hope. 

"I can't see, what's going on? Why can't I move a thing?" Kaneki was still but felt as if he was on top of something. "Flowers?" He's been here once before when Kaneki had eaten Ryze and accepted his ghoul counterpart. "What happened to me, last thing I remember is engaging Arima." Though the flowers surrounded him, this felt like an empty and endless void of darkness as if it was welcoming him to consume him whole. "I wonder if everyone made it out safely, in the end that's all that matters." He smiled slightly, "I suppose I got the hero's death I always wanted, too bad I won't see the ending." A sinister voice echoes through the void "You really think you can die that easily?" Kaneki's heart sunk, who was this voice, Jason? Ryze? He can't recognize it, he suddenly feels a Kagune wrap him like a serpent. It's hold is tight, not like Kaneki is in any shape to even resist. "How pathetic, the great Kaneki that was supposed to protect everyone has succumbed to this." The grip tighten around Kaneki's frail body, he gasps his bones are being crushed. "Allow me to help you understand better worm." He feels a burning sensation on his right eye, his vision begins to return. With his one eye he is mortified with the sight. It's him, but consumed by the Kakuja. "I am the true you, the monster you hide in the void." It laughs like a maniac and slams Kaneki on the ground. The pedals from the flowers begin to fly in the air and shower down. "They're dead you know, your pathetic excuse of a hero's death failed." Kaneki's eyes widen "You're lieing, I bought them enough time to escape!" "Let me show you." Images begin to fill Kaneki's head, the death of the Manager and the rest of the crew at Anteiku. At last the last two images, Hinami and Touka's body's laying in front of Arima. Kaneki let out a scream of agony, the feeling of failure dreads his body. It lets go of it's grip on him and walks behind him smiling. "See? Even now, you're too weak to even avenge them, but with my help.... we... can do whatever we want." It lets out a diabolical laugh looking at Kaneki. His kagune comes out, and he begins to get the strength to stand, tears are still leaking from his eyes, one that seems like blood. "So do we have a deal?" The centipede kakuja stops in front of Kaneki. "What's in it for you?" Kaneki asked coldly. "I get to have my fun and binge on corpses!" With everyone gone, what did he really have to lose, this would help avenge everyone who he loved dearly. "So be it." Kaneki's kagune wraps around the centipede kakuja, the pact is made the being began to disappear and into his kagune. He grabbed his eye, it was pulsating as if it was going to come out. It shined bright red, the pain was intense it was if his whole body was going through a metamorphosis. His right arm began to become consumed by the kakuja, Kaneki let out one last scream of agony before the world began to become dark around him. 

It was nightfall, Hinami and Touka were sitting on the couch watching television, unfortunately it was on the news channel which was reporting on what happened at Anteiku.  "Anteiku the beloved coffee shop was run by savage ghouls. Fortunately the CCG contained the situation and exterminated those vial things." Touka's teeth began to grit, her home was gone taken by those Doves. Hinami couldn't help but cry quietly, she lost her home not once, but twice in a short span. Touka wrapped her arms around her and comforted her, she felt helpless to help Hinami and Kaneki. The front door knob began to unlock, Touka and Hinami looked at the door to see Renji return with a bag, it was the usual packaging of the body. "How's it like out there?" She let out a yawn, it was late after all. "Doves are still searching the area for any stragglers, it's a good thing they don't know my face, makes it easier to go out and about without them on my ass." He proceeds to the fridge and puts the packages inside to avoid them being spoiled. "How's he doing?" Touka sighs "He's still the same, stable and breathing, it's been a while since I cleaned his bandages." She gets up and stretches, she begins to walk to the bathroom grabbing the scissors and bandages. "Renji, toss me one of those packages." As soon as she steps out the bathroom, it is thrown at her and she quickly catches it. "Thank you." She begins to open the door to the bedroom and drops everything. Renji stopped for a second "What did I say about dropping shit in my house? Clean it up!" Touka was motionless and unable to speak. Renji began to walk toward her. "Hey what's going-" Hinami rushed to both of them to see an empty room, with bloody bandages on the bed. The window was open, the curtain began to move to the night breeze. "Kan... eki?." She rushed to the window to look around quickly to see if there were any clues to where he went. She began to climb through the window and felt a sudden grip on her wrist. She looked back with anger, Renji held on to her. "Let go! I have to find him!" He pulled her down quickly and closed the window. "You running out and being suicidal isn't going to help him either, Doves are still wondering around the area. Not to mention your face has been seen, you'll be terminated on sight!"He was trying to get through to her, her emotions were getting the better of her rational thinking. He hugged Touka, "We'll look for him when things calm down, but we cannot be caught." Touka hugged back tightly with anger, feeling a sense of betrayal and abandonment. 

Kaneki was on top of one of the buildings close to the CCG building in the 20th ward. His kakuja swayed in anticipation smiling with ill intent. He cracked multiple of his fingers, "let the blood bathe begin!" He jumped off the building straight down and used his Kagune to break the fall creating a small crater near the front entrance. The alarm began to sound, the building began to flash red, "Code Red, Code Red!, Ghoul on the premises every Investigator to the front of the building!" A handful doves began to run to the front entrance to be met with this horrifying ghoul. "I've never seen a ghoul like th-" Kaneki's right arm immediately grabbed the doves head and a pop can be heard as his head was completely crushed. The blood flowed down like a river, Kaneki began to turn to the other dove. He fell backwards, attempting to crawl away from this monstrosity. "What's 1000-7?" "There he is fire!" The doves with ranged weapons began their fire upon Kaneki with little effect, he grabbed the terrified dove from the floor and used him as a shield. He let out screams of pain, he looked like a human porcupine once the doves had to reload. He threw the body with force at a small group of doves immediately impaling them with the body. 

Skilled investigators finally made it to the front entrance after prepping their quinque's in the armory. The air smelled of iron, and red mist surrounded the area. They are welcomed to the site of Kaneki mauling the corpses of their comrades. "You'll all pay for what you did!" He began to slowly stand up and laugh like a maniac. The investigators stand their ground knowing the inevitable is about to begin.
