The door closed behind Eggman, leaving his prisoner alone again.

Outside the room, the ship was littered with drones and security.

"Miss (Y/N) has the bracelet if she activates the door to get out, all of you will leave her be!" He shouted at the security drones, "Make sure she doesn't see you while she explores, if she does you'll all  be harvested!"

Eggman was met with empty stares and comprehensive beeping noises.

With grimace, Eggman clasped his hands behind his back and quickly made his way to his office.

"Hello Doctor! Where have you been?" Orbot shouted, "You were gone so long we had time to grow hair."

The robots had adorned themselves with unflattering wigs and posed dramatically around the office.

"You dunderheads better gets those ridiculous mops off your heads this instant!"

"Is someone jealous of our gracious locks of hair." Cubot teased The Doctor.

Any smart man would stop any form of shenanigans at the mere sight of the fuming scientist, except Orbot and Cubot were built to be more bronze over the brain.

"I should have you two tossed into the scrap yard!"

"We're sorry!!" Pleaded the two robots.

[ W a r n i n g : Trespassers at the outer gate, rebels spotted nearing the center gate. 1 Hour till they reach the inner gate ]

Eggman slammed his fist against the desk, "That pesky Fox and his hacking skills! Ahh and that Hedgehog, destroying my beautiful bots! This'll be sure to stump him!" He laughed

The base shook slightly as the Doctor sent his giant machine out as an attempt to slow the rebels. There was a high probability that Sonic would knock out this machine easily but there was a chance that it would slow them down. The Doctor was willing to take that chance.

He knew why they were here, he knew why they were fighting back harder than normal. Eggman had captured their friend.

"It took me a long time to lure Miss (Y/N) into my grasp, I'm not about to let you undo my progress Sonic." Muttered the evil genius to himself, "I won't let you."

[ A L E R T: Rebels near the inner gate have fled]

"OHOHO! If I push a bit harder they should flee for good!"

----

"Sonic! We need to fall back, we have wounded and are out of supplies!!"

"She's our friend Sally, I can't just leave her in the hands of Egghead!" Sonic dodged rockets and guns, a vain attempt to get through the gates.

"Sonic, listen to me! We have the hard drives and blueprints, I'm sorry (Y/N) was taken but we'll come back for her!" Sally could only say so much through the ear piece.

There was a scream in the distance, someone was in trouble. Sonic dashed to them, it was Mighty, they had failed to dodge a missle and were hurt, badly.

"Listen to me this once and fall back with us. We need you Sonic!"

Sonic did as Sally asked, fleeing the battlefield.

The blue hero glared at the ship in the distance, "We'll come back for you, just wait for us, wait for me."

"Sonic..." Sally couldn't find the right words, "Tails is coming in to pick you up, get to the drop zone, the coordinates are..."

------

[ The rebels have fled, recalling boss robots... Activating post battle command... Calculating number of cleaning drones required... Re-calibrating electric fences... ]

Eggman celebrated his victory along with Orbot and Cubot, whooping and jumping up and down childishly.

"We showed him!" Shouted Orbot, "He better think twice before messing with us again!"

"Another amazing victory for The Eggman Empire! Now, time to revise the plans and blueprints to extend my empire." The Doctor looked at the documents, blueprints and snacks scattered across his desk.

There was a village a mile down, there was no doubt the resistance had bunkered down there. Drones had yet to recover evidence of any rebels, there was always the chance of the rebels bunkering underground.

The issue with that was Tails, Knuckles and (Y/N). Tails could create machines, EMP's and cloaking devices from the ground up. Knuckles had the power of the Master Emerald to power those machines, not to mention all those mobians high on chaos energy.

Eggman grimaced, how could one depend so much on a gem instead of caring for their own person properly?

Then there was (Y/N), she almost rivaled my programing skills and could read just about every language of code.

"1 out of 3, time for phase two of my plan. If I can persuade her to my side, I'll have my empire sooner than planned!"

----------

It was disorienting waking up inside a room, it was a feeling that was normal but still felt so alien.

No tents, not concrete slabs, no jumpsuits. It was terrifying.

Your cell was quiet, which was unsettling, the quiet it kept you from relaxing. There was no chatter, no drills, no schedules and no smell of dozens of sweaty mobians.

You froze, sniffing your clothes and hair.

Oh Sparks...

Sprinting to the bathroom you gasped as you felt hot water running through the pipes.

Oh chaos

"This changes nothing Doctor, I still despise you but thank you..." You said to nobody, your voice echoing off the walls.

It had been so long since you'd been clean, so long since you've smelt like strawberries. Jumpsuits and weapons were cool but it felt refreshing being able to be a girl again.

Short dresses and cute sandals, it was the little things you missed from your normal life.

You'd never regret your choice to rebel and fight for freedom but it didn't mean you would stop longing for the simpler times. Pajama parties, movie night and stress free weekends.

This cell was the single most disgusting thing the Doctor had ever done. Psychological warfare was off limits to the rebels but apparently the Doctor didn't follow the same moral standards.

The bracelet crossed your mind.

Humans couldn't compare to the strength and abilities Mobian possessed. Humans were weak in comparison, which is why there were so few of you fighting in the frontlines. Many rarely returned home.

You weren't wasting anymore time here.

The peace was nice, but there's work to be done.

You refused to be remembered as another rose for the fallen.
