Chapter 8: The Smile
Jongin and his friends went to their school early and only few students can be seen inside the campus. As they went inside the hallway, the girls turned their gazed to their direction. With the looks, wealth and talents, who wouldn't swooned over them? The girls was shouting and trying to get their attention.
Sehun groaned. "Oh shit! It's still early in the morning and they're shouting already!" Sehun mumbled.
Chanyeol covered his ears. "Oh no! My precious ears!"
Suho went up to the girls and said, "Girls, can you do us a favor?" He asked and they nodded.
"We will do anything for you guys!" One of the girls happily said.
"Can you girls be quiet for awhile? We're trying to have a peaceful morning, right now." He gently said.
The girls nodded and bowed. "We're sorry." And the guys continued to walk in the hallway.
"Thank you, Suho-hyung!" Sehun smiled at the latter. "Those fangirls, really!" He shooked his head.
"I'm glad Suho-hyung shut them up." Jongin said. "And I thought I can't have a peaceful morning right now." He sighed.
Chanyeol patted his back. "You have to get used to it, Jongin."
"Is that Jihae-noona?" Sehun asked as his friends turned their gazed to the girl who just went out from the car. "Jihae-noona!" He called her.
The girl looked up as her name was called and she saw Sehun running up towards her. "Hi, Sehun. Good morning." She greeted her. "You're so early today."
"Yeah, I'm with my friends." Jihae looked behind him. "You may already knew them."
Jihae smiled at them. "Ofcourse, I recognised all of you." She said.
As Jongin looked at her direction, she genuinely smiled at him. Suddenly, his heart starts to beat faster. He looked down and shook his head.
"You okay?" Chanyeol patted his back. "Something's wrong?"
"Nothing." He said as he looked up again. He can't help but to feel disappointed as she starts to walk away.
Jongin can't help but to smile as he remembered how he fell in love with her smile. But he remembered how he hurt her in the past, he wondered if he still going to see her smile again.
His thought was disturbed as someone knocked on the door. He turned around and he saw, Chanyeol and Sehun. "Good morning, Jongin!"
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked as he sits in his chair.
"Let's eat our breakfast together!" Sehun beamed.
"C'mon! I'm starving already!" Chanyeol whined.
"Fine! You and your big tummy!" Jongin smirked.
"Yah, you're so mean!" He pouted as they went out to his office. As they reached in the lobby, Jongin stopped in his tracks as he saw Jihae walking out in the elevator with Kris.
"Jihae-noona!" Sehun called her as he walked towards her. "Hi, Kris-hyung!" They greeted him back.
"Where the others?" Kris asked. Jongin and Chanyeol walked towards them.
"Hi guys!" Chanyeol greeted them. "You look great, Jihae."
"Thank you, Chanyeol. You too." She said. "Hi there, Jongin." The latter froze as she greeted him.
"He...hey." He greeted back. "Good morning."
"Why don't you guys join us for breakfast?" Chanyeol asked.
"I'm sorry, I can't join you guys. I have to go back to Seoul now." Kris said. "There's something I need to do there." He added. "Since, Jihae is all alone it would be great if she will join you guys. Is that okay?" He looked at her.
Jihae nodded. "Ofcourse, It's been awhile and I think catching up with them would be great."
"I'll call you when I arrive there." Kris looked at her. "Take care, okay?"
"I should be the one who would say that." Jihae smiled at him. "Have a safe trip, Kris."
"I will." He smiled at her. "Good bye guys. Hope to see you in Seoul."
"Take care, hyung." They said to him.
The butler picked up his luggage and put them to his car. Before Kris leave, he walked to her as he kissed her forehead. "I'll see you in Seoul." He said as he patted her head.
"Ofcourse." She nodded as Kris waved at them and left. "Bye, Kris." She smiled at him.
Jongin looked down knowing that his heart couldn't take to see the scene anymore and how she smiled at him and hoping that he would be the one of the reason to see her smile again.
