Third period; that was when Poppy had detention with Edward. The young teacher was marking the Year 12 papers. He came across Poppy's paper. His mind wondered back to the morning in which Poppy had burst in and saw him in his underwear and him devouring a donut unattractively.
That was embarrassing he thought to himself. The small mirror on his desk reflected his piercing blue eyes that had the faint dark circles underneath them. He fixed his light brown hair with his hand and checked for any marks on his face. The older Jones child looked more like his dad than his Mum while his younger brother looked more like his Mum. He had noticed how he was looking more Ryan's age than his own, probably due to the tiresome mornings and restless nights.
Knock, Knock!
"Come in," Edward said. Poppy entered the classroom, dumped her bag at a random table and walked up to her teacher.
They greeted each other. She dragged a chair across the floor and placed it near her teacher, causing Edward to groan and cover his ears. She apologized sweetly. "Whatcha doing?"
"Marking some tests. I'm so tired I could fall asleep. Urgh kids!"
"Well. . . Why don't you mark the Year 7 tests whilst I mark your 6th form class?" She quickly snatched the pile and tried to run to a seat to the back.
"Yeah, yeah, park it, Hayley. Nice try! I'm not that tired. You'll give yourself an A+ whilst Henry and Kate get F-," he said, amused at her attempt.
She pouted. "You don't think I'm smart?" He rolled his eyes at her and offered her a beverage which she gladly accepted. He walked into the Science Office to find no one else in there. He went back into his classroom with two cups of hot drinks when he spooked Poppy. Startled, she immediately jumped back into her own seat and carried on marking instead of looking at her own papers. I handed her cup to her. "Thanks!" She took a sip. I glanced at her time to him and she glanced at me. She handed the papers in at the end of her time in detention. Edward trusted the tests were marked sufficiently. She packed her stuff and waved goodbye and left the room. Edward was about to sit back down when he realised, she had left her planner in his class. He went his student. Luckily, he had found her on time and handed it to her. He reminded her that she had had to carry out the rest of the detention after school. She smiled when I offered to drive her to her work place after it was done.
The fourth period bell had gone and soon, his year 7 class were starting to line up outside of his class.
"Who's she?" A short girl with brown hair and blue eyes asked.
"She's Poppy Hayley, one of the most popular girls in her year," one of my students answered.
Like the rest of the school, they had heard what happened between Marcus and Poppy and were talking about it after they had left. Edward snapped at his class, telling them off for discussing Poppy's life and told them to get out their textbooks. Luckily, there was no further mention of Poppy's life in the lesson itself.

Poppy's P.O.V.
After detention with Ed, I entered my maths class. Gabe and Beth were already there, looking at each other's answers. I sat at the back of the class. Once I had gotten everything out, I felt a pair of aims wrap around me. "Buddy! I've been looking everywhere for you! You're supposed to show me around! I got lost and. . . "
