"Ok, so how long has it been?" Stiles asked, clapping his hands together as they gathered around the examination table at Deaton's office.
Rose's eyes were dry and the bags under were dark. She hasn't been sleeping recently, anyone could easily recognize the distress and exhaustion on her face. She lacked focus in the conversation, but instead only thought about what was at stake.
Derek had been missing for weeks. She knew he was alive because she could feel it, but it was where he could be found that was the tricky part.
"Weeks. He hasn't gotten back to any of my texts." Scott sighed.
"Has Derek ever returned your texts?" Stiles asked, almost scoffing at him.
"Once. Definitely once."
"Derek ignoring your texts doesn't prove that he's missing." Lydia sighed.
"He's missing." Rose stated, her hand slamming down on the table. She then looked up at her three friends. They looked stunned by her reaction, but at the same time couldn't blame her for acting like this. She's been through a lot these past months, as they all have, but this was the last thing that needed to happen to her.
Rose then reached deep into her pocket and pulled out a bullet that was left at the loft. "This is the mark of a family of hunters based out of Mexico." She explained pointing out the mark that is engraved on the bullet. "The Calaveras."
"What would they want with Derek?" Lydia asked.
"Derek has made a lot of enemies throughout the years," Rose told them.
"You don't think they killed him, do you?" Stiles asked nervously.
"Rose, wouldn't you be able to sense it?" Scott turned to Rose.
"I'm having trouble finding our connection..." Rose sighed, and then looked up at Lydia, "That's why you're here."
Rose then slid over the canister full of bullets. The can scrapped on the table as it glided across, before it stopped in front of Lydia.
Lydia gave her a confused glance before realizing what she meant. She nodded in realization before reaching into the container and grabbed the bullets. She played around with them in her hands while they all watched her intently.
Soon her facial expression dropped completely, the bullets falling to the ground soon after. "Lydia, what? Is he dead?" Stiles asked
Lydia looked around trying to find the words to use to explain what she had just experienced.
"No. But I'm not sure he's alive either."
"What does that mean?" Rose narrowed her eyes.
Lydia paused, still feeling the texture of the bullets in her hands. She struggled to find the words, or even comprehend what she meant either.
"I don't know. There's something not right. I just... I don't know." Lydia stated, clearly frustrated with herself.
Rose was not satisfied with Lydia's answer. If anything it only made her more upset.
"So if the Calaveras have him, how do we find them?" Stiles finally asked, not sure what their next move is.
"Mexico." Scott stated bluntly and then let out a heavy sigh.
Rose, no longer wanting to waste any time looked up at them.
"We leave tonight. Let the others know."
