...

Rose kept to herself as they walked out toward the jeep. There was only one Kate that Rose knew of, and she could've sworn that she was dead. This wasn't possible. And Rose didn't want to believe it.

But if she was alive, and she had Derek, this was more dangerous than she originally thought. Derek could already be dead for all Rose knew. Their connection was growing weaker.

"So you're just letting us go?" Scott asked.

"I sent four men out to where Kate was rumored to have been seen. None of them came back. Let's see if you can do better." Araya told them.

Scott responded with a shake of his head, "You could've just told us she was alive."

"None of you would have believed me," she answered and then looked directly into Scott's eyes, "Now I know what kind of Alpha you are and where your next step lies."

"What next step?" Scott inquired.

Her eyes narrowed at him, "When you take the bite of an innocent, when you make a wolf of your own, when you do that, then, I will cross your border and come knocking at your door."

"And you," she pointed sternly at Rose. "I sense a darkness in you, and I know you feel it too."

Rose remained still, but couldn't ignore the fact that Araya's words sent shivers down her spine. Rose ignored her friend's confused stares. Everyone could tell something was off with Rose, but they just assumed that it was because of Derek. But apparently it was something more. Something bigger than all of this. But that always seems to be the case.

Stiles looked around us for a few times, waiting for someone to say something, and then finally asked, "So now what?"

"She thinks she knows where we can find Derek." Scott answered with a small shrug.

"She gonna tell us where?" Malia asked impatiently.

"Uh, actually, she's giving us a guide." Scott said, just as a woman pulled up on a motorcycle.

Stiles looked over at Scott, "You know her?"

"Braedon." Scott nodded as the girl took off her helmet, revealing scars of claw marks running down her neck.

Rose recognized the girl. She was the one who had saved Isaac from the Alpha pack a while back.

"She's a mercenary." Lydia stated keeping her gaze locked on Braeden.

"Right now, I'm the only one who's gonna take you to la Iglesia." Braeden said.

"I'm sorry, in English please?" Stiles asked, shaking his head spastically.

"La Iglesia, means the church," Rose rolled her eyes and then muttered, "Idiot."

"Hey I didn't do good in Spanish." He stated defensively.

"Yeah, and you obviously didn't do good in English either." Rose barked back.

"Enough." Scott shot Stiles a glare before he could respond with another witty comeback, "From the both of you."

Rose simply chuckled. It was easy to get under his skin.

"So what's The Church?" Kira asked, redirecting the group's attention.

"It's not a place you'll find God."

...

They were all crammed in the back of Stiles jeep. Rose's body pressed up against the window while Malia was seated next to her. The air in the car was almost too hard for anyone to breathe. It was stuffy and hot, and practically unbearable.
