to be
or not to be,
that is the question.
but what if you don't want to be
trapped in this body, trapped in this mind
trapped in this home.
home was where my parents were, where my toys and books were.
then, from a string of unfortunate decisions on my part that led
to tension between family and I
the home was where my friends,
who "were the only ones who could understand me."
{the only one who can understand your experiences is you but I only know that now}
Now, home to me is much more simple
It is anywhere I feel safe,
anywhere I can smile and laugh {and even cry} without shame.
Home is my house,
Home is my school {which still has my polaroids growing dusty in my abandoned locker}
Home is the library
Home is the books.
Thanks to this new way of thinking,
I have many little homes
Waiting for me.
