EEK!! Tryin' to catch up now! Lol. This is super short again, sorry guys! As usual, I'm having writers block. But tell me how I'm doing so far!
Reiko flung herself off of the pillow she was sleeping on.
Whoa! What was that?
It seemed so real to her. She shivered and sat up straight while her mind raced with the brutal scenes of her nightmare.
“M-Mary….?!” Her lips quivered as she pronounced the name. Had she heard it before? It was like trying to remember someone you didn’t even see. Her hands travelled across the lace on the nightgown that was glowing a pearly white shade once again in the moonlight. Her breath got caught inside her lungs.
What’s happening to me?
Reiko touched her cheeks and felt her forehead in case of a temperature. But there wasn’t any. Suddenly she remembered the glowing figure’s words. Stumbling out of the bed, she skidded across the room towards the door and into the hallway, making for Yukio’s Room. She grabbed the doorknob of each door and swinging them open looking for Yukio, but with no success. Something inside of her was screaming for Yukio.
She sprinted across the long hallways. Her voice echoed showing no signs of anyone ever being there.
No! No! No! This can’t be happening!
When she felt like her lungs were about to burst if they didn’t get enough air, she stopped at the end of the hallway huffing and puffing on the verge of crying. But when she looked up, in the dark as much as her eyes could see, there was a wooden door with a silver nameplate with no recognizable words. She grabbed the handle and swung the door open revealing the smell of lavender and roses. She moved onward with no hesitations. The room was large and spacious. In front, was the gigantic balcony taking most of the attention from the room itself. There was a faded view of mountains in the horizon.
Then suddenly Reiko jerked around as she saw Yukio’s silhouette kneeling on the floor as if being choked.
“YUKIO!!” She shouted as she rushed forward to help him.
“GET OUT! GET OUT!” As soon as Reiko’s fingers touched Yukio, a demonic voice screamed from Yukio. Reiko drew back in alarm and fear.
But she remembered the glowing figure’s words.
Reiko came and took ahold of Yukio’s shoulders chanting all the prayers in her mind under her quavering breath. The screams grew louder and louder, more harsh and full of hatred.
In a split second, Reiko flew through the air and hit the wall as an unknown force pinned her to the wall and strangled her. Reiko screamed Yukio’s name in muffled cries. Tears flooded her vision as her mind whirled in pain. Yukio slowly got up and moved towards her in inhuman speeds. Reiko no longer heard her own voice. She tried to scream but no noise came out.
Reiko could feel Yukio’s heated breath of her neck sending electric waves through her spine. She caught a glimpse of a red glow in the darkness coming from where Yukio’s eyes should’ve been. Reiko’s limbs wouldn’t move anymore. Suddenly she felt the sharp edges of animal-like teeth on her neck. They were ready to bite down when something when something snapped and Yukio dropped to the floor like a rag doll.
Reiko felt the strong force fade around her. As the moonlight shown on Yukio’s face, he looked up at Reiko in pain. Reiko’s blood froze.
Yukio’s eyes were flashing between blue and red.
“Reiko, please get out of here!” Yukio’s struggling voice cried.
Reiko stood paralyzed with fear and confusion. Yukio got up, still immensely struggling, and pushed Reiko out of the door. She stood in pain as the door shut violently behind her. She could not make out what she had seen. But the horrifying scene, scared her too much to deny. Yukio’s shouts as well as the demon’s screams were heard from the opposite side of the door. Reiko dropped to her knees, crying silently, unable to help who she was supposed to help.
