Chapter 3

We meet Corey in the hallway in front of the bathroom.

"Hey Core" I say.

"Hey dude" Joey says. Joey has the tiniest crush on Corey we'll never tell him though.

"Hey girls. Whats so important I had to leave Lucas and his what if presentation" He says.

"What do you think about Rowan?" Joey asks.

"I love Rowan. She cute, sweet, funny and dating my kindergarten best friend. Why?" He asks.

"Just wondering. We wanted to see if you would talk shit about her" Joey says.

"Sabrina, you should never talk bad about your girlfriend" Corey says.

"I'm not. Just wanted to make sure you weren't. I heard someone say you were" I say.

"Well they were lying so don't believe them" He says. "Probably just some asshole trying to start shit between you and me" He says.

"Good. I would never want you to hate my girlfriend" I say.

"Did you tell her that?" He asks.

"Of course not. I don't want to start stuff between you and her" I say.

"Ok good" He says.

You could hear the softness in his voice. He felt bad even though he didn't do anything. I kind of felt bad for lying to him.

We all went back into the auditorium. I went back to Rowan.

I texted Joey right away.

Me: I forgot I was supposed to go to Rowan's after school today.

Joey: Don't go. It's not a good idea.

Me: But I want to

Joey: Fine but don't get too attached. When this is over everything is going to go back to the way it was.

Me: I know

"Are you sure you're feeling ok?" Rowan asks.

"I already told you hun. I'm fine" I say.

"Ok" She says. "If you want when you come over we can take naps together. We can work on the project another day" She says.

"What project?" I ask

"The english one, remember?" She asks.

"Oh yeah. Sorry" I say.

"It's ok" She says.

I was originally working on that project with Corey and Joey was with Rowan. Joey was not happy about that. That must mean Joey and Corey are working together.
