Chapter 17 - Father's Surprise Visit

Days had passed Adley continue to visit me, my mom always teasing me about Adley. I always face palm when she continue to tease, my mom didn't leave me in a single hour and days.

My sister Ruby visited me every weekend along with Yang, today the doctor said I will be discharge tomorrow. And I think that's good because I want to participate on the Vytal festival.

I was busy fidgeting my bullet, and my mom is outside getting us food. I throw my bullet up and down, I get up from my bed and walk towards the window.

I heard a soft knock and a nurse came in with her kits, I sat down on the chair and she head towards me.

Nurse : Goodmorning Ms. Branwen.

Rangel : Morning too.

I said to her as she gets a injection with a red liquid inside of it, I got worried and it seems to get the nurse attention because I suddenly flinch when she touch my dextrose.

Nurse : Don't worry, this medicine is to remove the remaining poison inside you. Your doctor want to make sure there's no poison remains left.

Rangel : O-ok..

I said and she smile at me, she position the injection and inject inside of my dextrose. The medicine is lightly painful at first but it suddenly went away.

The door opens revealing mom that has her hand full pack of different foods, the nurse was finished putting the medicine on my dextrose and she bid good bye to mom.

Raven : Does it hurt?

Rangel : No.. Not anymore, well in first yes but not that long.

I said and she fix the food for us, I did a little help but she scold me not to do anything but me be I her daughter I insist.

Raven : Here, it took me awhile but I made this just in time to bake it.

She hand me a box and when I open, it was a fresh baked cookies. I picked one of the cookies and it taste too sweet.

Time passed by, my mom telling me ger stories about her team.

Raven : And you know what is the funny that time?

Rangel : What Uncle Qrow wearing skirt?

I made a guess and she chuckles at me, immediately shuffling my hair. I groan and pout at her while I fix back my hair.

Raven : Yeah, that one.

Rangel : Wait.. What!? He wear skirt in your days?.. I can't imagine.

I laugh at the thought I have whilst I shake my head, I hope I have team too.

Raven : And there's our leader, she maybe a clever one but she's amazing at the same time.

She took out a picture of Team STRQ, I look at them and saw that they all have same smile. Mom Summer really look like Ruby.

Raven : This is a good memories back then, you know, you should know that people has the-

My mom was cut off when the door suddenly open, and it reveals.. My father.. Mom glare at him and immediately standing up where she is sitting.

Raven : What are you doing here Tai.

There's a venom on her voice, I look at the side not wanting to make eye contact at him. I reach to touch my mother's side but I can't reach her because she's 2 meters away from me.

I reach for my bullet on my hospital gown but I accidentally dropped it, that makes a loud cling on the ground. My mother snapped her gaze on me and she notice my behavior, immediately getting on my side.
