Angelo's POV

I moved along my bed gently, trying to get to my bothersome ringing cellphone without waking Elena who looked so peaceful. My arm was trapped underneath her as it wrapped itself around her body. I stretched my other arm a little more, finally grabbing the corner of my phone. I quickly tilted it over to silence the tone before swiping across the screen and placing it to my ear.

"Ciao (hello)?"

"Capo (boss), I'm just calling to let you know that your cugino e la sua fidanzata (cousin and his fiancée) are on their way up to the penthouse."

"Giovanni and Katena are here?"

"Si, Capo (yes, Boss)."

"Ok, Marco, Grazie (thank you)."

After throwing my phone on the bed beside me, I gently pulled my arm from under Elena, placing one of the pillows behind her back in place of my body. I shot out of the bed, briskly making my way to the door. I didn't bother with a shirt, all I was concerned with was getting Gio and Kat out of here.

Swiftly entering into the corridor, I closed the door quietly. I paid particular attention to the clicking of the handle as I shut it. Upon turning to make my way down the corridor, I froze when my eyes met those of a very intrigued Kat and confused Gio. For fuck's sake.

I played it off and casually walked down the corridor, descending the stairs and making my way into the foyer.

"Why on earth were you closing your door so slow..." Kat's voice trailed off as her eyes widened.

"Is there a girl in your room? In your bed!?"

I opened my mouth to speak but she quickly held up her index finger to hush me.

"Is it Elena? Is Elena in your bed!?" Her voice began to rise as her realization sunk in.

"Would you keep your voice down!?" I whisper shouted, my eyes glaring into hers.

They both exchanged not so subtle glances with one another before landing back on me. I could feel my nerves vaulting beneath their gaze.

"Oh, my God!" She shrieked.

"Don't make a big deal out of it, Katena!" I warned her as my hand rubbed my forehead in frustration.

"Don't make a big deal??" She seemed completely appalled by my request.

"She had an emotional night and broke down. What was I supposed to do? Leave her to cry and walk away?" I was starting to feel the annoyance coursing through my body.

"No." Kat shook her head, placing her finger upon her lips and tapping them as she spoke. "But you could have laid and consoled her in her room... In her bed."

I remained speechless while staring at her blankly. Fuck. I have nothing to say to that because she's right. It's where I was planning on taking her, however, my heart had other plans.

Kat gasped as she discerned the situation and I couldn't correct her with any one of my excuses, made up or otherwise.

"Oh, my God!!!" She exclaimed in a high pitched voice.

"Keep it down!! Why are you so loud!!?" I gestured with my hands as I took a step closer to her, gently turning her body away from the direction of the stairs.

She decreased her screeching into a soft whisper but began jumping up and down while hanging on Gio's arm.

"Bello (handsome), this is so exciting! Our babies will have cute little cousins to play with..." She began but trailed off into a pensive state.
