"Iwa-chan,are you up?" the boy with the black hair opens one eye and stares at the silhouette in the doorway. "I am now. what's up?" he sits up and leans against the wall, making room for his friend who was still wearing Jeans. "I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep" it was nighttime now, around 1 am,and oikawa sat down beside him. his hair was all messy and he had marks in his face from the pillow. "probably because you fell asleep earlier" iwa grumbled and rubbed his eyes. he was pretty tired and wanted to sleep but there was something in him that couldn't say it. "you can sleep if you want,I don't want to keep you from that"the taller one said and his voice sounded soft. iwa laid back down, resting his legs over Oikawa's. "you want to tell me now what happened?" he asks as he closes his eyes and Oikawa sights. "I haven't spoken to my parents in 3 years" he said after a short while and iwa opened his eyes again. "why?" Oikawa avoided looking at his friend,he knew he wouldn't judge, but he couldn't hold the intense stare, the eyes that showed concern. "after getting into the team my parents and I got into a huge argument. my mom said I shouldn't go,I shouldn't leave her and my dad said something about supporting the family I don't really remember. regardless we kept screaming and yelling at each other till I crossed a line and my dad hit me. he regret it instantly and apologized a million times and I don't blame him,it was a impulsive reaction you know my dad would never intentionally hurt me. anyways my mom started crying again and I left in anger. when I came back my dad apologized again but he said if I decide to get into the team they will no longer be my parents. so I left" oikawa ended his story and looked down. iwa had sat up midway and watched his friend intensely. he knew Oikawa's parents, they were good people, they've always treated him like their own son,yet there was no excuse to hit a child. "toruu I-" he started by Oikawa cut him off. "I don't want pity. you wanted to know what happened,I told you. that's it" he said laughing and laid down, leaving iwa sitting in his bed, wondering where the hell he went wrong to not notice something so huge in his best friends life. when Oikawa got accepted into the team, they celebrated, they drunk and were happy. how could he not notice him having such trouble? he shook his head to throw away those thoughts and laid back down besides his friend, his left arm behind his head, his right arm resting on his stomach. Oikawa had his eyes closed,he was laying on his right side, facing iwazumi. his breathing was in a rythm and iwa listened to it for a while. "hajime" Oikawa's voice pulled the older one back into reality and he turned his head to him. "hm?" toruu's eyes were glowing in the moonlight and a strange feeling overcame iwa as he stared at his friend. "thank you. for everything. even after all these years you still came and were my friend" iwazumi didn't have an answer for that. he didn't even know himself why he did but there was something about Oikawa that made him feel safe. he always had admired his friend, secretly of course. it never bothered him to be the shadow of an amazing setter. oikawa had this weird talent of talking in the highest tones about himself yet he never talked anyone down. they've been friends for as long as iwazumi could remember and there was never a time where he questioned Oikawa's friendship or loyalty. he turned to his side and pulled Oikawa closer into a hug, trying to please that weird feeling in his chest. his friend rested his face against his shirt, holding onto it with one hand. they stayed like that for a while before tossing off into the sweet relief of sleep.
