Iwazumi looked outside the window while he waited for his friend. the ambulance had taken him into a room but nurses came in shortly after and took Oikawa away again. his thoughts drove off as he listened to the noises of the hospital. the feeling in his chest was now enormously and he was constantly worried about his friend. the door opened and he turned around. oikawa walked in,connected to a drip and a doctor followed him. immediately and without hesitation iwa walked over and supported his friend to the bed. he just smiled weakly as he sat down and the shorter one looked over to the doctor. "well,Oikawa you were lucky your friend called an ambulance" the elderly man turned towards iwazumi. "his lungs collapsed, caused by to much stress and effort. we specifically told him to stay in bed and take his medication." the shorter one looks down on his friend angrily before speaking to the doctor. "he didn't. we played volleyball" oikawa made a hissing sound and iwazumi's hand landed in his neck. "we have to keep him here for an unknown time period. he will be receiving medication and a healing program but regardless he needs to stay in bed." the doctor nodded towards the shorter one before leaving the room and shutting the door, leaving the boys alone with all their feelings. it was quiet for a minute and Oikawa laid down in bed,his face distorted in pain and anger. "say something already. come on yell at me,tell me how disappointed you are. or better yet, leave and never come back" the words from the taller one hit iwazumi like a train and his eyes scan his friend carefully. he tried to make out his feelings but for the first time,he had actually no idea what was going on with Oikawa. so instead of yelling, like he really wanted to,he kept his voice down and soft as he asked the one question that he had in his head. "why didn't you tell me?" it was all he could think of,he was hurt and angry,he wanted to yell and hit people,he wanted to shake his friend but also hug him real tight. but iwa kept all those feelings and thoughts inside as he sat down on the bed, next to his friend who looked like he was already dead. "I knew you'd worry" Oikawa's voice was weak and his pale face almost matched with his pillow. "of course I'd worry you dumbass. we risked your health for some stupid balls" even though iwazumi tried to stay calm the anger inside him took over and he felt the redness and heath inside his face. his friend didn't react,he just turned his head towards the window and the shorter one sights. "I'm sorry,I didn't mean to get angry at you" he took Oikawa's hand and twisted it,scanning every inch of it like he wanted to make sure this hand was real. his friend didn't react to anything and after a while the boy with the black hair started to stare outside the window too, with his friends hand laying in his. it was dark outside already and iwazumi felt the tiredness overcoming and he should probably go home but he couldn't stand the fact to leave Oikawa here all alone. it's kind of funny, not even 4 months ago he didn't think of Oikawa at all,now he was sitting here, keeping his friend company and worrying about him constantly. "hajime, you don't have to stay" toruu's voice pulled the boy back into reality and he turned his head. "I want to" nothing could have made him leave, not even the nurses who told him to come back tomorrow. he laid down next to his friend in the small bed of the hospital, pulling his friend into a hug and tucking him in. the taller one rested his head on iwazumi's chest, grabbed onto his shirt and buried himself in it,having the constant fear that his friend was just going to disappear again. he felt iwa's chin resting on his head, his hands wrapped around his shoulder, driving up and down his back. "Iwa-chan" he said after a while and the older one grumbles in return. "I trust you. more than anyone. so please don't make me regret it okay? don't leave me." it was a weird demand of the setter, there was a never a time where iwazumi would have even thought about leaving him alone. not even in the biggest argument,he'd never leave. but instead of getting all defensive and mad he just nodded softly and squeezed Oikawa's shoulder. "I'd never leave you, dumbass"
