A little girl stood in front of me, her blue eyes staring into mine. I looked back at her curiously, unsure of who she was and what she wanted. Her black hair was almost as dark as mine and ran past her waist in beautiful locks. She had skin that was as pale as paper, but she was gorgeous nevertheless.

I looked around me and realised that it was dark all around. There was nothing but an empty blackness surrounding us. I looked back at the girl who was smiling at me with a twinkle in her eyes. She had an aura of tranquility to her that somehow seemed to put me at ease.

"Who are you?", I asked, my voice a whisper. She cocked her head at me, still smiling.
I waited for her reply, but nothing came. She just continued to look at me like she didn't understand what I was saying.
I started to ask her again, but she put a finger on her lips.

"I understand. I heard what you said."

I blinked, startled. Her voice was calm but that was making me anxious for some reason. She looked into my eyes and whispered, "I will explain. But before that, you have to see this."

She gestured towards a scene that had started to appear in front of us.
"This is the court of King Tristan. Watch. You will understand."

I nodded. She looked at me for a second, then closed her eyes. I sensed a change in the air around us and watched as the girls eyes fluttered open, glowing. They were the lightest shade of blue and looked almost creepy against the black background.
That wasn't all, though. Just as she had opened her eyes, wings had started to unfold from her back. They were beautiful wings too, glowing faintly with a greenish light that made her look angelic.

I stared at her, stunned. She smiled at my expression and held a slender arm out to me, nodding. I hesitated for a moment before taking it. Her hand was cool to the touch and I held on tightly, afraid that she might disappear if I didn't.
We walked toward the scene and I tensed, scared of what I might see. I had seen enough of these visions to conclude that every time I did, something bad happened.
The little girl seemed to sense my tension and turned towards me.

"Don't be afraid. Nothing will happen to you."

I wanted to tell her that I wasn't scared of what might happen to me. I was scared of what I might find out that would put everyone I know in danger. I managed to give her a small smile and nodded. We continued walking forward, and I saw a girl standing in an empty hall.
She was staring at the door, as if she was waiting for someone. As we walked closer, I realised that the girl looked just like the little girl next to me.

I stopped and turned toward the little girl. "Is that you?", I whispered.

She nodded without looking at me, but I saw tears in her eyes.

"Who are you waiting for?", I asked, trying not to be too loud.

Again, the girl didn't look at me. She simply waved her hand towards the scene.

"You'll see."

I looked back at the scene and noticed that the room looked oddly familiar, like an old memory tugging at the back of my mind. The girl stood in front of a golden throne, engraved with different carvings of lions and other symbols I couldn't identify. There were pillars all around the room with silk banners hanging down from them. There were carvings on all the pillars, of course. Just like I'd seen in Archer's cottage.
Everything in this world had engravings. They left a mark on everything created here.

I felt my eyes start to tear up at the thought of Archer. I won't let any harm come to him. He'll be safe, no matter what.
The girls wings fluttered softly as she paced up and down the hall.
