7am. My alarm is going off, but my mind wants to stay in dreamland. I roll over, grab my phone, and hit snooze. The classic "5 more minutes" is a big reality for me. Once my alarm starts going off again, I turn the alarm off and check my notifications to kickstart my day; Just some tweet notifications and a message from my mom asking how I have been.
I jump in the shower when I feel more awake and finish getting ready for the day. Once I'm done, I start walking to the train station. As I was passing Q's house, I hoped I would get a glance, hoping he was up. Sadly he wasn't in sight. I hopped on the train and listened to my music until we got to my stop.
As I was climbing off the train, I felt my phone buzz. While I walked to the office, I checked my phone. It was Sal, in the group chat, asking if when I was done with work if I wanted to come hang out at a bar for a little with the guys because they were leaving for tour the next day. Then while i was typing my response, Joe sent a message saying, "Pleaseeeee" with a sad face. I smiled and told him that I would love to. I told them I was getting out around 5 today because I had to write my bit on the Jazz Fest and then I had a few meetings later in the day. Sal replied back with the name of the bar and said to message the boys when I was leaving the office. At least I had something to look forward to tonight :)
***** 4:30pm *****
We had just finished the last meeting for the day and I had to go to my little office to finish up a few things and then I would be able to leave. When I sat down behind my desk I sent a message to the boys saying I would be done in about 10 or 15 minutes and then I was gonna catch a cab to the bar. I had looked it up during lunch and it was only a 20 minute walk but it was raining so i figured a cab was the best bet. I finished up what I was doing and made my way outside to find a red jeep and a very handsome man standing under an umbrella waiting for me.
"Welcome to Quinn's Taxi Service. I heard you needed a ride to a bar m'lady?" I smiled, "How did you know where my office was?" He smiled back, "While besides Time being one of the biggest magazine companies on planet Earth, me and the boys had to come here one day for some interviews because we were in an issue awhile back."
"Alright well let's get out of the rain and get to the bar because i need a drink!" I smiled at Q when I finished my sentence and climbed in his car. We started driving and I turned to him and asked, "So why did you decide to come pick me up? A cab would have been fine." He glanced at me for a second, almost like he was trying to find the right words to say. "Well i just figured why waste money on a cab when i could just come grab you. It wasn't that far out of the way and you're probably gonna beg me to drive you home again." He winked and smiled at me with that last part. I smiled and looked down at my lap, knowing he was right.
Once we got to the bar, we walked in to find the other 3 boys already sitting around talking. Sal was the only one with an alcoholic beverage because Joe and Murr don't drink. I found that out the other day at movie night. I told the bartender what I wanted and once I got my drink, I waited for Q to get his and then we joined the other boys at the table.
"So are you guys excited for tour? What cities are you going to again?" Murr sipped his iced tea and said, "We're starting in Pittsburg, then down to Louisville, Memphis and Tulsa. Then that night after the Tulsa show we fly back." "Wow, 4 shows in 5 days. That's a lot." Joe smiled, "Eh, you get used to it after a while." We sipped on our drinks and talked a little more. While we were talking a pool table opened up.
"Sal looked at everyone, "Anyone up for a game of pool. We could do teams." I looked at him and then the table. "I probably shouldn't. I just might be the worst pool player in the world." Joe laughed, "Well then you haven't seen Murr play. I'll sit this one out."
"Sal immediately grabbed my arm and said, "I call Avery, the last time I played on Murr's team I wanted to beat him with the pool stick." Murr looked at me and said, "I honestly thought I was gonna die that night. He was so angry." I laughed and I said game on and the 5 of us walked over. Joe said, "I'll be the judge, meaning i'm going to judge how much all of you suck."
