After getting dressed and having a peaceful outdoor breakfast at the local coffee shop, Amira and Rylee walked to the pond. Rylee saved some bread from her bagels to feed the ducks whilst Amira brought her new camera with her. It was a lovely day outside, there was a slight breeze that ruffled Amira's dress. She wore a light yellow dress, decorated with pink and blue flowers. Thin straps sat on her shoulders, holding it up. Around her neck hung a necklace with Rylee's name between the gold chain. Her hair rested on her shoulders and seemed to bounce as she walked. Her shoes were the same blue as the flowers on her dress, blue straps with a wooden heel.
Rylee wore the same necklace but with Amira's name between the silver chain. She wore a clean, white button up shirt paired with navy blue jeans and black flats with a bow. Her long, dark brown hair was straight and almost floated in the wind. Her crystal blue eyes were focused on the dirt pathway leading to the bench. They looked perfect together and their outfits complimented each other nicely. Amira was carrying her bag full of camera stuff and Rylee held the picnic essentials. Once near a tree providing shade, they sat down and started setting up.
"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Rylee asked, unfolding and laying out the red and white blanket on the prickly grass.
"It is, but not as beautiful as you." She responded. Amira smiled and her girlfriend reflected her expression.
"So what shall we do first m'lady, chat and eat or feed the ducks and take some photographs?" Rylee asked comedically, in a British accent.
"Dare I say we feed the ducks? I would be able to get some great shots of you feeding them." She mockingly responded back. Amira was never good at accents but she still tried her best.
"Alrighty then, let's go!" Rylee was the first one to get up and grab the bread. Amira followed second, grabbing her camera bag and a bottle of water. Together, they walked towards the edge of the pond, careful not to fall in. Amira first pulled out her older camera and patiently waited for little ducklings to approach them. After two minutes or so, a family of 8 swam over. The mother and her seven ducklings ate the floating bread trail, getting closer and closer to Rylee holding the bread in her outstretched hand. Surely enough, 3 of them nibbled at the food and Amira snapped a photo. The camera spat it out and she lightly fanned it before placing it down and taking some more pictures. Rylee's hair would occasionally fall in her face since she was bending over so Amira would tuck it behind her ear for her. It was a kind gesture and made Rylee wish she could do more.
"Hey babe, what do you say I take a picture of you for once? It would give you a chance to feed the ducks and for me to test out your new camera!" Rylee said, pulling her hand back and pushing herself up onto her feet.
"Oh, I don't know Lee. I'm not as photogenic as you..."
"Come on! You're always taking these amazing pictures of me, let me take one of you! Pleaseeee..?" She said with a pout, it was amazing how she could get what she wanted with that face.
"Alright fine, but can you keep using my normal camera? I just... it prints out better colour." Amira responded, giving in to her girlfriend's begging tactics but not letting her win completely.
"Fair enough, as long as I get to take pictures of my beautiful girlfriend feeding the ducks." She grinned in victory and picked up the camera. They switched spots and Amira reached into the brown paper bag for some bread. She made sure to break it apart into little pieces before offering her hand out to the ducklings.
She smiled gently as she felt their little beaks hitting the palm of her hand. There were about 4 or 5 of them now eating her from her hand. When the rest of the bread was gone, she reached and tried petting one of them but he swam away too fast. She would've fallen in if Rylee hadn't grabbed her waist and pulled her back. They landed on their butts and shared a laugh.
