Trigger warning: Self-harm

Theresa stayed silent as Bella drove her to school, not knowing what to say.

She hadn't talked to her last night since she wasn't home until late. It also didn't help that at the last minute, Bella was told that she needed to drive Theresa to school, which meant that Bella couldn't get a ride from Edward to school every morning from now on. Let's say the two girls didn't have the best greeting.

"So, how do you like it here?" Bella asked her as she tapped her fingers on the steering wheel in an attempt to make the car ride less awkward.

Theresa just shrugged.

"That's how I felt when I got here, too," She said, gaining Theresa's attention, "What changed?" She asked her, finally speaking.

"I found Edward," Bella said, smiling as she said his name.

Although Theresa didn't know Bella, she had noticed that Edward was a big part of her life. From Charlie's disapproving grunts whenever his name was mentioned, she could tell he wasn't a fan, but that's all she knew about the mysterious boy.

"You must love him," Theresa stated, almost as if it was a fact. This caused Bella to turn and look at her.

"How do you know?"

"You smile when you say his name. My dad used to do the same thing when he talked about my mom," Theresa answered, returning to looking out the window of the red truck.

There were a few moments of silence before Bella broke it by speaking, "Hey," She paused, thinking of what to say before continuing to talk, "I'm sorry about what happened-" Bella said, but was cut off by Theresa before she could say anything else about the situation.

"It's fine, I'd rather not talk about it if you don't mind."

Bella shook her head, "Not at all."

Bella may have given the girl and Charlie a bit of an attitude this morning, but she still felt for the girl. Bella had to move to Forks, too, but it was her choice. Theresa didn't have a choice. Bella stayed in contact with her mother and lived with Charlie while Theresa's mother walked out on her, and her father sent her away.

Bella looked at the girl, watching as she picked at her fingernails.

Theresa was nervous, but as Bella turned into the parking lot of Forks High School, she realized she was much more anxious than she had thought. The anxiety didn't end when Bella parked either; if anything, it got worse.

Bella turned off the truck and opened her door, leaving the car. Theresa grabbed her backpack, following her.

Theresa watched as Bella's attention was focused on something across the parking lot. She followed Bella's eyes and saw they landed on a man, not a teenage boy. Theresa didn't believe he was young enough to attend school with them. He had golden brown hair and piercing gold eyes. He was pale, paler than the kids that walked around him. Theresa didn't realize she was staring until she heard Bella clear her throat.
