To put it bluntly, you hated your talent.

You were the Ultimate Linguist.

There probably wouldn't be anything wrong with this talent if you weren't shy. Yes, you were quite possibly the shyest person in Hope's Peak and your talent practically emphasised this.

And you hated it.

Whenever you told someone about your talent, they'd look astonished and would manage to stammer out a, "really?!"

And when people find out that you were dating Leon Kuwata, the Ultimate Baseball Star and the most outgoing person in your class, they may as well die of shock. But it was true.

He was the one who asked you out and you were a blushing mess (obviously) and when you- ahem, he- finally started telling people, they were surprised to say the least.

The first (and only) person you told personally was your best friend Chihiro, and you had given him your blessing to tell your two other friends, Mondo and Taka; you use the term "friends" extremely loosely when describing Mondo and Taka- yes, you sat with them at lunch and went to their houses and all the regular things friends do, but you rarely did these things without Chihiro being there. If he cancelled plans or was off school sick, it usually became very awkward very fast or there'd end up being a conversation which they tried- but failed- to include you in.

You were just so shy.

It was a Friday, and you were stuck in your last class of the day: English. Propping your head up with your hand, your eyes bored holes into the clock, willing it to speed up as the droning on of your teacher became simply muffled white noise in your ears. Leon had invited you over to his place to stay for the weekend and you were planning on spending all of the precious time you had together cuddling, eating and watching movies. "Hurry the fuck up!" you screamed internally, glaring at the stupid clock so hard the back of your head started throbbing.

And that's when you zoned back into reality and caught the last half of your teacher's sentence.

"- and with your partner you will create a presentation based on a book of your choice. You must stand and present your work to the class and be willing to answer questions; you have until Monday to prepare."

You could feel your friends' (and boyfriend's) eyes on you as you stared intently at the desk, your heart racing at what felt like one thousand miles an hour and your head spinning as you suddenly began fighting the urge to start sobbing there and then.

You managed to weakly lift your head and kept your focus- which had quickly become blurry thanks to the tears brimming in your eyes- on the whiteboard. Willing time to speed up, you seemed to have gained some of Makoto's good luck, as the bell began relentlessly ringing, signifying the end of the day.

You and Leon had a ritual of sorts. Every Friday you'd watch him practice baseball for an hour or two and then you'd go back to yours or his place and, more often than not, stay the night. Upon hearing the bell, you slowly rose from your seat, desperately staring at Leon and silently begging for him to turn around and save you from bursting into tears. To your luck, he waved off Sayaka and a few other members of your class and he turned, locking eyes with you.
