Summer of 1916...we have been in this period for quite a while, but this time is the last time we set foot here, so we will close the year 1916 with a flourish, or rather...a bloodrish. Our story begins in June, on the eastern front, where Russia had decided to help his Platonic love France and his other ally, Italy, breathe a moment, distract the Central Powers. This is where the Entente's biggest victory begins: The Brusilov Offensive .
Petrograd: Are you sure that such a wide front front can be sustained? Can we at least consider that this idea is not terrible?
Russia: We have been planning this for two months, we imitated their trenches, we took aerial photos, I am ready to help Frantsiya, and if I must do this, I will do it right
Petrograd: That's not the point...but I suppose the one who doesn't risk doesn't win
Russia: You Got It! Let's get going, the summer is not eternal!—He said walking away little by little, beginning to meet with a group of troops who handed him a weapon—
Petrograd: ...This is going to go very wrong
But despite all the movement that could be seen on the Russian side, Vienna, who had been sent to fight on the eastern front instead of Austria-Hungary, was doing nothing more than practicing his grenade throw. On that June 4th he was doing the usual training, until...
Vienna: —He carved his ears— what is this sound that I hear? It sounds like multiple bombs are coming...towards me...it can't be
Vienna immediately took cover inside his trench, just in time to avoid the brutal bombardment that indicated nothing more than the beginning of the offensive. The shooting started and no man's land began filling with soldiers, it was clear that Vienna was about to suffer a real hell on earth.
Vienna: What is this supposed to be?! This is not the way it should be! I was about to crush him!
Suddenly, he felt someone jumping right over his trench, Vienna looked up...that pale skin and that royal white coat was unmistakable, the "White Prince" was right over his trench, and that wasn't good news
Russia: Hello Vena, I see this took you by surprise
Vienna: You!—He made an attempt to take aim with his rifle, but he was caught up in a movement well recovered from fencing —This is unthinkable!
Russia: Unthinkable?—He smiled smugly—Unthinkable is that you took my defeat for granted, it's as if you didn't know me at all, Vena. What a shame, and to think that I had gladly helped you in 1848
Vienna: That's enough talking!
Russia: —He rolled his eyes— Well, if that's what you want...I will gladly do as you say
Under the astonished gaze of Vienna, Russia along with the troops stormed the trenches of the first line of defense. The bullets and sounds of the machine guns being used terrifyingly well complemented the blood being splattered, spilled, falling on Vienna...he was being pulverized
Russia: I think they will do the job well, I will go for your second line
Vienna: This is not going to stay like this
Russia: Oh, Vena, you are barely surviving the first day. What makes you believe that you will be able to resist all the months that I plan to spend on this?
Vienna: I'll find a way, even if it's the last thing I do
Russia: Well, I wish you luck...before I go, I must ask you a question. Do you play hot potato?
Vienna: Play what?
Without stopping to listen, a smiling Russia placed a grenade in the hands of Vienna, who panicked and thought of a place to throw it...the only logical option seemed to be backwards to run as fast as he could in the opposite direction. He did not take long to think about it, so he did it immediately, not realizing that a large group of troops was coming in that direction fleeing from enemy fire. Vienna began to run and did not look back as the grenade was detonated...perhaps that had not been his intention, but Vienna had killed his own soldiers.
