It didn't take him long to find the beauty. She was next to the famous Seine River smoking a cigarette looking up at the bright Eiffel Tower. He stayed in the shadows for a bit just watching, watched how the full moon made her pale skin glow, how the wind made her short Indigo hair dance fluidly, how the smoke left her full pink lips, and her blue eyes still shined in the dark night.

"I know you are there Kawaki," she said lightly with her focus still on the famous landmark.

He came out of the dark and soon found himself standing next to her "you need to get back it's not safe here for you." saying almost coldly.

She looked up at him "Do you smoke?" she lifted the case of cigarettes towards him.

He shakes his head no.

She puts the carton away "I didn't really smoke till I moved to London. I don't do it all the time just when I drink or super stressed."

"Himawari," he said gently

"I know, I just need a few minutes."

They stood there in silence for a while, neither of them saying a word but they somehow felt at ease in each other's presence.

She looked over at Kawaki whose attention was on the water. She noticed the cut on his cheek that she gave him yesterday during their fight.

"Stop staring," He said not looking at her.

Himawari didn't say anything she moved closer to the tall man.

He was now facing her, their eyes locked with one another's.

She then reached her hand up gently touching the sensitive spot "I'm sorry"

He didn't move away, just kept his eyes on her "not your fault, you were just doing what you were trained to do."

"I know, but still"

He placed his hand over hers "you know, I wasn't lying when I said your fighting skills were impressive."

She smiled lightly "Thanks"

Kawaki still had his hand on hers but moved it from his face to examine the markings on her palms. She gently pulled away not really wanting others to look at it, reminding her about the little time she has left and the lives that were lost.

He could tell what she was thinking "Thank you, by the way," he said lightly "I heard what you said to your brother earlier"

She looked up "Oh, Boruto is just being overly protective, he isn't always an ass. But I meant what I said, in our line of work it can be difficult to find that silver lining you know?"

"Yeah," he said softly leaning over the rail "But, in a way he is right, I'm not a good guy."

"I think you are good."

Blue eyes meet Grey.

She then puts her attention back on to the smoke coming from the lit cigarette. "I mean you had so many opportunities to kill me, but you decided to come along and help. You know, Of all the mercenaries I have interacted with they show no remorse, but you...... you, sound almost ashamed."

He was quiet for a moment.

"I didn't ask to have this kind of life, but I'm in too deep, there is no going back."

"What happened?" she asked with caution.

He focused back on the water below. "My father was a drunk, I can't tell you how many beatings I got as a child." He paused for a moment not knowing if he should continue.

"It's okay, you don't have to tell me more," she said lightly, she wanted to move closer wanting to touch him, to comfort him in some way but he kept the distance.

He sighed "Can I ask you something?"

She nodded her head "Do you love him?"

"Inojin?" she said lightly knowing that was who he was talking.

"yeah"

Himawari was quite for a moment "right now, I dont know. We have so much history, I mean he was my first everything. I was always seen as Borutos little sister or the Directors Daughters by everyone. Inojin was the first one to see me as just Himawari, to be seen as myself and not just a relation to someone." She took a small puff of her cigarette "He made me feel like I had value in the world, so its hard moving past that. Its hard enough to let go of your first love but the worst part is loosing a part of you, a part that had a dream, a plan, and a future with that person. Inojin was that to me, I'm not 17 anymore and I think I was really moving past it all but the moment he said I was his best friends little sister and the Direcctors daughter it brought back those old feeling. It felt like I wasnt me anymore just what everyone knew me to be, you know?"

"Yeah, I think I do" He said not taking his eye off her.

Himawari looked over to see Kawaki watching as if he was listening to every word she said. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to just spew all that one you. I am so embarrassed, especially now that I know you heard everything I said to Inojin." she laughed at her self showing a little of her old self to the man next to her.

She was expecting him to say something anything really but he let his face faulter like he was saddened by somthing. She wanted to ask, she wanted to know more about this mysterious man front of her but he stayed silent. They stayed like that for a bit till Kawaki deeply sighed.

"We should get you back, the longer we stay out here the more we risk being found." He said as he starts to walk away from the Uzumaki.

"Okay," she said softly putting out her cigarette.

They walked in silence for a while getting closer to the safehouse. Himawari stopped in her track causing Kawaki to turn around.

"What?"

He then noticed her move closer to him with a serious face on and pulled out money "here" putting it in his hand.

"What are you doing?" he looked down at her in confusion.

"I am hiring you." She held her gaze "your job is to take me out if we cant find a cure for this." she then looks down at her hand.

"Himawari let's no-"

She cut him off "Kawaki, you know just as well as I do that this could all go bad. I just need to know that you will be there if it came down to it."

He was about to hand her the money back when they heard footsteps from behind.

"Kawaki, its good to see you boy."

They turned to see the reaper with a guy on each side of him.

Kawaki moved, quickly blocking the man from Hima.

"Shi" he hisses.

"Have you changed your mind in joining the movement?" he asked stepping closer causing Kawaki to tighten his fighting stance.

"I swear Shi, I am not scared of killing you again!"

He laughed like a true maniac "nothing can kill me, I am more machine than human!" He then focused his attention on Himawari and smiled "good to see you again princess are you ready to go?"

"Over my dead body!" She glared at the man ready to fight at any moment.

He laughed "That can be arranged..... get them!"
