*KRIS'S POV*
I was calmly walking home from school, listening to my music. I was fine until I saw police cars surrounding my house. I walk into the house to find my best friend, Alix, there with her parents, Mary and Mike, and police men talking to them. They all looked at me when I walked into the kitchen.
"Whats happening?" I asked, really confused
"Sweetie, i'm really sorry, but your parents died in a car accident today while you were in school."
Mary told me.
The words 'your parents died' kept ringing in my head. I screamed "THEY CAN'T BE DEAD, PLEASE TELL ME THEY ARENT, PLEASE!"
I sunk down to the floor and Alix ran to me and engulfed me into a hug. I just stayed there for a while sobbing into Alix's chest, while she stroked my hair. She kept whispering to me that i'll be okay, but I just can't process anything right now. Exhaustion started to get to me and soon enough I was asleep on Alix's lap. Well that is until she picks me up and starts walking to what looks like her dads truck. Alix had always been really strong and I weighed like nothing so it wasn't hard for her to carry me. Her parents follow behind us. Once we're all in the car I found the courage to talk.
"Where are we going?" I asked still half asleep.
"Your parents told us that if anything were to happen to them, that we would become your legal guardians. So you're gonna live with us now. I already packed all your stuff and put them in the trunk." Mary told me, and I just nodded.
Today was just horrible
