Chapter 3- Getting Better... Oh wait shit

*KRIS'S POV*

I've been sitting in this hospital chair for an hour and a half. I called the police when I got home from school because I heard Alix screaming. By the time I was upstairs Alix was already loosing consciousness and her dad was trying to get out of the house. Good thing the police got here before he was able to escape. When the police and ambulance got to our house they arrested her dad and took Alix to the hospital. They said she had a broken rib from when her dad was kicking her but they said she was gonna be okay. Right now I was just sitting in the chair and holding Alix's hand. I was crying because she looked dead, she looked so pale and lifeless. I couldn't stand the thought of not having her, although the doctor told me she was gonna be fine, that thought just killed me. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Alix started to move, I quickly got up and ran to the nearest nurse and told her that she was waking up. We entered the room and the nurse shone a light in Alix's eyes and said "Alix if you can hear me open your eyes."
It looked like Alix was trying to open her eyes but she just couldn't. I took her hand in mine and gave it a little squeeze. That's when Alix's eyes fluttered open

*ALIX'S POV*

I felt someone shine a bright light in my eyes. Then I heard a voice that I didn't recognize. She said "Alix if you can hear me open your eyes." I tried really hard and failed like three times. I felt extremely weak. I tried one last time and I was finally able to open my eyes. Where the fuck was I? All the walls were white, just like almost everything else in this room. I tried to move to see this place a little better but I was just to weak and I was also tangled in a bunch of wire thingys. That's when it hit me, I must be in a hospital. Memories from yesterday started flooding through my head and I started to have a panic attack. I started to sob into my hands as I remember what my dad had done. I heard footsteps and I looked up to see who it was, it was Kris. She just climbed into my bed and hugged me. The nurse just gave me some meds to calm down. I snuggles into Kris and she started to hum to the song Saviour by our favorite band, Black Veil Brides. Her humming and the steady sound of her heartbeat were like a lullaby to me. I soon fell asleep in her arms.

*KRIS'S POV*

Alix was peacefully sleeping in my arms when the doctor came in.
"Hi sweetie, your friend Alix can be released tomorrow at 2 pm. You two will be taken to the house you live in to pack up all your things so the police can take you to the nearest orphanage. You will be living there until you get adopted." The doctor told me. I just nodded and she left. I thought about one of us being adopted and leaving the other one behind. I couldn't bare with that thought, it was too painful. Alix would never do that to me, right? I let the thought slowly leave my brain and I rested my head on the pillow that was on Alix's hospital bed. Pretty soon exhaustion caught up with me and I went into a deep sleep.
