"Hey there!" Chuck waved to the red head boy with thick eyebrows in the near empty train compartment. Chuck's best friend, Bomb, and his sister, Silver were right at his sides. The boy looked up from a small, red, leather bound notebook at the three and scowled.
"What do you want?" His words were bitter and cold.
"Well, everywhere else is full, and there's three empty seats here. Mind if we sit with you?"
"Yes, actually. I mind very much." The boy stuffed his face into his notebook again, the pencil in his hand moving across the page at a steady speed. Silver scoffed and grabbed the hands of the two boys beside her and pulled them into the compartment. The boy glanced up, displeasure emanating from him. Bomb and Silver took the seats across from the boy, and Chuck took the seat next to him.
"My name's Chuck La Vitesse! The silver headed girl with the almighty look is my sister, Silver La Vitesse, and that big, loveable guy right there is my best friend, Bomb Nett! What's your name!?" Chuck excitedly introduced them all, bouncing up and down in his seat. His golden hair and pale skin was so different from the red hair and tan skin tone of the boy next to him.
"I don't care who you are. Leave me alone." The boy grunted, not looking up from his notebook. Bomb, who was about five and a half feet, really tall for an eleven year old, shook his head of dark hair at Chuck, warming him to back off. Of course Chuck didn't listen.
"Oh, come on! Don't make me guess your name!" Chuck had a huge smile, he actually lived guessing. If this boy was going to make this a guessing game, Chuck would happily oblige. Silver watched, amused, as her glimmering pigtail braids fell down her shoulders.
"Leave me alone." The boy repeated, a little more harshly. Chuck scanned the boy, looking for close as to who he might be. Chuck noticed initials etched in the bottom right corner of the the boy's notebook. The initials read, R.C.
"So your initials are R.C., huh?" They boy quickly closed the notebook and tucked it under his arm.
"If I tell you my name, will you leave me alone!?" The boy was furious now. He looked like he might punch Chuck's nose bloody.
"Maybe." Chuck cooed, "Tell me first."
"Fine!" The boy gave in, giving a sassy eye roll, "My name is Red Crógacht! There, now leave me alone!"
"Crògacht?" Chuck repeated the name with curiosity. "Do you know what that means, sis?"
"It's the Irish word for bravery." Silver answered without a moment's hesitation.
"Irish?" Bomb said, looking confused, "Why doesn't he have an Irish accent?"
"Oh my God." Red pinched the bridge of his noise in annoyance.
"Oh." Bomb was left with a blank look of even more confusion.
"So Mr. Crògatcht, I see you're a first year like us. What house do you think you'll get put in?" Chuck leaned in, invading Red's personal space.
"I don't care what house I get, as long as people leave me alone." Red's answer was blunt as he pushed Chuck away.
"Bomb and I hope to get Hufflepuff!" Chuck completely ignored Red's abrasiveness.
"Yeah." Bomb have a dopey smile, "I'm not smart enough for Ravenclaw, not brave enough for Gryffindor, or evil enough for Slytherin. Hufflepuff is more my style."
"I know I'll get Ravenclaw. I'm smart, amd all of the females in our family go to Ravenclaw." Silver seemed proud of that fact.
"All the guys go to Hufflepuff." Chuck grinned and turned to Red, "What house do most of your family usually get into?" Red didn't give a venomous answer, he instead went completely silent, his face going blank.
"Are you a muggle born?" Bomb asked, starting to look worried at Red's expression. Red turned to the window, ignoring everyone else in the compartment. It soon became clear that he wasn't going to answer, so the other three went on to conversations without him.

As they clambered off of the train, a short dude with green hair called for all of the first years to follow him to the boats the first years use to enter Hogwarts. Red finally spoke when Chuck almost knocked him off from moving around so sporadically.
"I'm this close to shoving your wand up your nose!" Red threatened, holding his fingers less than a centimeter apart.
"I said I was sorry." Chuck wined, holding his hands over his nose defensively.
"How far would it go up his nose?" Bomb asked to no one in particular.
"I'm surrounded by idiots." Silver muttered to herself, but just load enough for them to hear.
"Oh come on, little sis! We're not that stupid!" Chuck waved a confident hand.
"Chuck we've been over this, we are literally only a few days apart in age." Silver spoke in an annoyed monotone.
"You're still younger." Chuck teased, patting Silver's head.

"Welcome new students." Came the voice of an elderly man from the top of the stairs that led to the Great Hall. The first years gazed up at a short man, Caucasian man with dark grey hair. They man wore purple robes and a welcoming smile.
"I am your headmaster, Alexander Judge. I'm here to make sure you are prepared for the sorting ceremony." The first year stood in a quiet group, listening to their new headmaster.
"Ad most of you know, there are for Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. You will be sorted into your house, and it will be like your family during your stay here." Headmaster Judge paused to make sure they all understood. "At the end of the year, the house with the most house points wins the House Cup. Being obiediant and outgoing will earn your house points, misbehaving will lose points." Headmaster Judge looked over the sea of eleven year olds. "Now that that's out of the way, stay here while I go see if everyone is ready for you." With that, Headmaster Judge entered the Great Hall, making sure not to open the door to wide. As soon as the door banged shut, the first years broke out in hushed chatter.
"I can't believe we're here!" Came the voice of an orange haired boy.
"This is so exciting!" A pink haired girl squealed gleefully.
"Almost there." Silver whispered to her anxious brother, who was tapping his foot non-stop.
"I think I'm sweating from nervousness." Bomb said a little to loudly. Red stood rigid, his thick eyebrows furrowed together. Everyone was being so noisy and cheerful. Why couldn't they be quiet? He couldn't think! It was making him so....angry. His clenched fist were now shaking. If Headmaster Judge didn't come back soon, he might explode. Where was the headmaster? Why was everyone being so LOUD!?!?
"You okay, Red?" Came a voice on Red's right, snapping Red out of his near explosion. Red turned to see Chuck looking at him curiously, his foot still tapping away.
"I'm...okay." No one had ever bothered to ask Red if he was okay. It was strange.
The sound of the Great Hall doors opening made everyone's heads snap back to the front, where the headmaster's head now stuck out of the door.
"We're ready for you now." The Headmaster Judge smiled again, pushing the doors open to reveal the amazing room that was hidden behind them.
