"It's so nice to finally meet you, Red!" Chuck and Silver's mom, Charlotte, said as they entered the modest four bedroom house that sat on a four acre plot of land. Red could see that Silver got her metallic hair and charming looks from her mom, whereas Chuck had his mom's personality. Charlotte was practically bouncing on her heals ever since she saw her children get off of the train, her almost grey looking silver hair bouncing from where it rest at her shoulders.
"Yes, Chuck has told us so much about you in his letters, you may as well family." Chuck and Silver's dad, Oscar, had deep, sunset yellow hair with olive skin, which stood out against his wife's fair complexion, and a calm, intellectual manner that was still kind and friendly. Chuck blushed a little from his parents words.
"I haven't written about Red that much." Chuck could feel Red's eyes on him. Sliver was now smirking at her brother as she placed her scarf on the nearby coat rack.
"Oh but you have!" Charlotte exclaimed giddily, "You told us how you guys met, how you became friends, that time during Halloween where you pranked Red by hiding a toad in his chocolate frogs, how he got you back by casting a spell that turned your hair pink for three days, when-" Oscar placed a gentle hand over his wife's mouth after seeing how pink his son's face was.
"That's enough Dear, I think they get the point." Charlotte gave an embarrassed smiled as Oscar's hand fell away, realizing she was embarrassing Chuck. Due to the ADHD that Charlotte had, she had little to no verbal filter. It was the same thing with Chuck, his ADHD also affected his verbal filter.
"Hey Chuck," Red spoke for the first time since setting foot on the property, "Can you show me your Quidditch card collection that you wouldn't stop raving about on the way over?" Red smiled as he put his coat onto an empty coat hook, hoping his distraction had worked.
"Huh? Oh yeah!" Chuck took Red's hand and started running in the direction of his room, "It's right next to my Gobstone set!"
"Chuck slow down!" Red almost tripped up the stairs as he failed to keep up with the blonde boy, but he was laughing the whole way.
"Oh...oh dear wizards, I can't believe I'm only just realizing this." Silver rubbed her forehead as she started to piece the puzzle together. Chuck writing about Red so much, the way Red was looking at her brother on the train, how they always seemed to be with the other, how Chuck was the only one who could get Red to smile, they way Red made Chuck calm and at ease. It was so obvious now that she could see the picture of the puzzle clearly.
"What is it, Hun?" Charlotte asked, a little uneasy on how Silver was rubbing her forehead like she was coming down with something.
"It's so obvious, how did I not see it sooner?" More images flooded through Silver's mind, the longing looks the two would get when they thought no one could see them, how they were sometimes a little to close to each other, even for friends, the way Chuck would goggle at Red's amazingly detailed drawings, how they would search for the other when they weren't together. Seriously, how had Silver only seen it now!?
"Silver, what is it dear?" Silver finally responded to her father's worried voice. She realized that to her parents, she probably looked like she had gotten sick or something, but she was actually excited. No wonder Red and Chuck made each other so happy.
"I can't tell you just yet, but I might be able to later!" Silver rushed up the stairs that Red and her brother had disappeared up. She wanted to double check her hypothesis before springing the news to her parents. Silver would hate for them to get to ecstatic and scare of Red.
Being as quite as possible, Silver snuck to the open door of her brother's room, just barely peering in enough to see the two boys sitting on the floor, studying Chuck's strewn out Quidditch cards, their backs facing her. She watched with interest as Chuck and Red talked about the famous Quidditch players on the cards, "Even though Red wasn't a fan of Quidditch." Silver noted, though her brother was to lost in the conversation to remember. Silver stifled a giggle at how adorable the two were. Now that she knew what was going on with them, she noticed every blush, every little compliment, how they would stop talking every so often and just sat in the blissful silence.
"Hey Chuck, thanks for not telling the others that I'm an orphan." The red head's voice was so quiet that Silver almost didn't hear it, bit she did. She almost revealed herself with a gasp. Red was an orphan? Is that why he got so defensive when they asked about his Christmas plans?
"No problem buddy! I figured you'd tell them when you felt ready." The blonde wrapped an arm around Red is a side hug, which the hot tempered boy willingly accepted.
Silver's eyes widened significantly as they faced each other. She could see the space between them slowly closing, like they were going to kiss. Silver found herself leaning to get a better view as they grew closer.
"Come on," she thought, "almost-" that's when silver lost her balance and fell with a yelp.
"Silver!?" Chuck exclaimed as he and Red instantly parted, scrambling to out space between them, even though they didn't know why they were separating. Both were just acting out of instinct.
"Sorry, I fell on my way to my room!" Silver got up nervously, hoping she sounded convincing.
"I thought Chuck was the clumsy one?" Red asked with a joking smirk, rousing an over dramatic scoff from Chuck.
"I am not clumsy!" Chuck crossed his arms defensively.
"Yes you are." Silver and Red spoke in unison, making Chuck narrow his eyes.
"Hey kids, wanna help with dinner? I'm making spaghetti and garlic bread! Charlotte called up the stairs.
"Alright!" Chuck said excitedly and was down the stairs before Red even got out of the door. From the bottom of the stairs they heard Oscar yell out in fear.
"Chuck wait! That's not spaghetti sauce!" There was a loud boom that followed right after Oscar's words. Silver and Red glanced at each other before racing down the steps.
