XXVII. Firsts

He found Lime at the common wash area just outside the comfort room, taking deep breaths, face looking upward trying to hold back tears.

"Lime what's wrong?"

"W-wala"

"Balik na tayo dun, nag-aantay sila Claire"

"Dito na lang muna ako please"
Lime regretted her desicion na mag walk-out, she just wanted to be far from Paulo but now wala pang isang metro ang layo nila sa isa't-isa.

"Lime ano ba problema?"

"Ano ba Paulo di ba pwedeng nag eemote lang? madami lang akong iniisip, bumalik ka na dun"

"Is this about Justin?"

"Yes and no" Ibinaling nya ang atensyon sa lababo at naghugas ng kamay. She is just too emotional to look at him straight in the eye.

"You miss him?"

She looked at him wondering what he is trying to say.

"Yes, namimiss ko si Justin" she confided, somehow she really misses him. "Andami kong gustong sabihin sa kanya, gusto kong magsorry. Ok na ba yun?"

Paulo can't help but be hurt of what he heard. He was speechless for a moment.

"Excuse me" Lime was about to leave when Paulo held her hand gently and pulled her closer.

"Lime sandali, why are you doing this?"

"Doing what Paulo?" Lime couldn't think straight being this close to him. She could hear his heartbeat, smell his minty fresh breath and perfumed scent. Wala na, hulog na hulog na sya.

"One moment you seem so attracted to me and the next puro ka naman Justin, Justin, Jus-"

Hindi na nya natapos ang sasabihin because he felt Lime's lips on his. Her hands at the back of his neck for support so she could lean upward and reach him.

He felt her struggling so he leaned down, put his hands on her waist, and kissed her back. Her sweet, peach scent and cherry flavored lipstick made him kiss her deeper.

Lime longed for this moment, to finally had a taste of something she could only imagine for eight years. And this sweet kiss is worth the wait.

Nothing beats a first kiss, with one's first love.
