~Chapter 7~

I walked down the dark street, not really knowing where to go. My arm was banging with pain; the number was changing with almost every step I took. Before I left the house, I took my backpack and filled it with clothing. I also changed out of my pyjamas and put on comfy clothes since I didn't know how long I would be out for.

I checked my phone after a while, it was 4:30 am, and to be honest, I was a bit tired; but I kept on walking. I was determined, to find who my soulmate was.  'I don't even know what gender they are. I hope that it's a boy though...'

It was now 6:00 am. I have been walking for hours, and I'm kinda dizzy. I haven't eaten for a while. I checked my phone and saw that the closest food place, was another 10-minute walk from where I was.  'Why am I not driving? This would've so much faster...'

I sped up my pace once I saw a Chick-fil-A. The best part of all, there was a hotel near it as well. I might not have my car, but I sure do have my money. 

~Time Skip~

"Thanks!" I smiled once the secretary gave me a card for a room. I went to look for my room, it was on the 3rd floor. 

"There it is!" I said as I approached room 315. I plugged in my phone once I got in, then I crashed landed on my bed, and fell asleep.

I woke up to the sound of my phone going off. I went to go see who was calling me. I looked at the caller ID,  Brennen  I answered.

C: "Hey Brennen"

B:" Colby! Where are you?"

C: "Um, at a hotel."

B: "Why are you at a hotel!?"

C: "Didn't you and Jake read my letter?"

B: "Yeah we did. It's past 3:00 pm, and you're still not home!"

C: "You sound like a mom"

B: "I don't give two sh*ts, Colby! Jake and I are worried! Even Tara, Devyn, Xepher and Shea are getting worried!"

C: "I don't care, Brennen! I want to find my soulmate! I want to find out who they are! I'm not coming back until I find them!"

B: "Fine, but don't come crying back to us when they reject you"

Brennen then hung up. I didn't think about that. 'What if I find them and they reject me? They can't, can they? We are soulmates.' I felt an urge to continue walking. I needed to find the person. Without thinking, I got off of my bed, grabbed my things, and headed out of my room. 

"Leaving  so soon?" The secretary asked as I returned my card. "Yeah, I just needed a room to relax in for a bit. I've been walking for hours trying to find someone." I told her.  "You have a soulmark I'm guessing." She suddenly said.  "Uh, yeah. I do. H-how did you know?" I asked.  "I have one as well, and I can also just, tell. If you want to learn more about them, there is a library down the street. Tell the librarian I sent you. She'll know what you are looking for." She then said.  "Okay, thanks a lot!" I said bye to the secretary, then left the hotel.

I got to the library and saw the librarian.  "Excuse me?" I said. "Oh hello! What do you need?" She asked. "Uhm, the lady that works at the hotel down the street told me to come here," I told her. "Right this way." She led me to the back of the library and took out a book.  "This is what you need. Are you looking for the person right now?"   "Uhm y-yeah."  "Take it. Keep it even. I have more copies." I was confused.  "Do you even know where you are supposed to go?"  She asked me. "My teacher told me to follow my heart, and that will lead me to the person," I told the librarian. "Well, you're teacher is very wise then." She smiled at me, then left.
