After five months of working together, Mr. Tao even started going out of his way to come to my place to pick me up or notify me of something if he was passing by instead of calling me.

Which was much appreciated, because god his calls were so dull and depressing. Being able to see his face and study his slight body language was so much better in person.

I was singing when he showed up one morning, simple and probably pretty dull since I wasn't a singer, but it must have gotten to him. Because just a week later I was hearing a new song on the radio. It had the made up lyrics I was singing.

I practically ran to his office, where I knew he'd be, and when he turned around and saw my pissed face, he smirked.

"I see you've heard it. What a shame, I was just about to call you."
I scoffed, but some how the anger faded away. Standing here seeing him now, my mind cleared.

I walked up to him slowly and placed my hands on my hips, "Hey, look at me."
He shut off his monitors, turning to face me as asked, "Yes?"

"My heart hasn't beaten that fast in a long time." I grinned, "You, are a sneaky little fucking genius, Mr. Tao!"

He smiled, just barely, "I see, I'm glad I'm not boring you."

"But... you did still take my words and use them for your own advantage without my permission, which is both rude and if I remember correctly - illegal."

"And?"
"And so I want something to make up for it."
I could practically feel him roll his eyes, "How much do you want?"

My eyes widened, "How much? Now that's a very vague question, you know... that could mean a few things, like... how much time do you want with me?"
"What are you getting at?" He rose a brow, an unimpressed look on his face.

"This!" I jumped forward and clung to him, pressing my head to his chest and listening as his heart beat escalated.
"H-hey!" He hissed, "What do you think you're doing?!"
"You may be able to get every one else with money, Tao, but that won't work with me!"

He paused, and slowly but surely relaxed until his arms fell back at his side. He let me stay there for a while, and I relaxed my own body at the thought of him never hugging me back.

I could read humans, and most of the time manipulate them pretty well, but that probably would never work with him.

"Are you done?"

"I guess so." I pulled back, looking up at him with a small smile, "Keep at it, Tao. I'm excited to see what you do next!"
