Riding home, Cassi was still rattled by the day's events. She never would have thought she would find someone else to actually be comfortable around. She was always scared that if she got close to someone, she would end up hurting them, and she wouldn't have any way to explain herself. At least that's what her parents have always told her.

" H̵͎̻̼̿͛̇e̸̜͊́'̴̹͕̜̆s̶̱̞͌͋̾ ̴̢̜̜͌c̷̿͒̀͜u̷̗̭̲̓̔t̶̳͊̎ȇ̶̖̞̀́r̶͇̻̹̎̓̀ ̸̟́̅t̷̬̞͂̍̓h̶͖͗̽̄ă̵͖̟̺͘ń̷͕̑͘ ̶͈͆̃̚Ȉ̴͇͈̲̕ ̵̱̈́͗̚͜ͅt̵̲̣͉͝h̴̛̞̝̜͋o̶̝͇̚͝u̵̢̢͙̓g̸̞̬͑̈h̷̠̍̕͠t̵̻̀̑͂͜ ̷̨̡̹͒͑h̶͈̭̝̓͝e̷̞̰̲͊̈'̵̝̪̽͗̓d̴̹̙̖͝ ̸̺̆͂̋b̷̰͝e̵̢̥̓́ "

Cassi was surprised to hear her say that, but while Cassi was pushed back, and just a spectator when DC wanted to meet DD, Cassi did notice something exchange between them. Something that words could not describe. "Looks like someone has an 'interest' in him.." Cassi said to her. "Like you weren't so desperate to be friends with him." She replied a bit defensively.

Thankfully Cassi got to her house and rode her bike in the driveway. Neither Cassi nor Dark Cas wanted to talk about what they were feeling.

Cassi walked through the front door of her Icelandic primitive style house to find her mom coming from the kitchen and her dad coming from the hallway. Her mom bombarded her with questions asking how she was felt, what part of her hurt the most, taking her temperature. All she said was that her head was hurting a lot and wanted to get some rest.

"Oh, yes of course," her mother said, "Your father pulled out some fresh clothes for you to change into, b-b-but only if you want to sweetie!" She said meekly. "There's also some fresh tomato soup in the kitchen. B-b-but if you want a different kind of soup, or no soup at all and something different, t-that's fine sweetheart!" She finished in the same meek tone.

"Ugh" Cassi groaned, now her head really did hurt. As she opened the door to her room she heard her mom say down the hallway, "Ok! you can decide what you want after you've rested!" All she wanted was some peace and quiet. She stood inside her room taking in the familiarity of it, she needed something familiar after the events of today.

She went to the hammock underneath her bunk bed and sat in it to read one of her books to take her mind off everything. Her character in the book was in the middle of an enchanted forest when she realized how tired she actually was. (I know "character in an enchanted forest" isn't original, just roll with it) Cassi ended up falling asleep in the hammock with her book on her chest. (Just to let you know, DC is the one that experiences dreams not Cassi, so Cassi never remembers them, this will make sense in the next chapter.)

DC opens her eyes to find herself in a beautiful forest. It looked magical, one might say, enchanted. DC knows it's a dream because she would never be able to walk around freely like this in real life. With nothing else to do, she walks down the path deeper into the forest pondering about the day. She could perfectly remember DD's face close to hers as they both lowered their knives, the spark they had shared. She could tell something was happening behind those hollow eyes, she could also sense his heart rate going up. She thought about what she herself felt in that moment. She felt the hole inside her grow larger just thinking about him, the sudden urge to see him again. And as if on cue, she looked over at a bush and saw him crouching there looking at her, and he smiled. But just like that, he was gone, disappearing into the void. But It leaves her feeling curious as to how he was there. But then she felt a rumbling, Cassi was waking up. DC closed her eyes, and Cassi opened them, in her hammock. She realized she slept until morning, she was hungry and confused, and as she was walking to the kitchen, she thought she remembered Dax last night, but thought nothing of it.
