Chapter 42

Over the next few months, DJ and Kath had made the decision to post more videos on the YouTube channel. Their first true vlog video together was of Kath talking about her accident, but it was filmed like a conversation between the two of them instead of talking to the camera. DJ hadn't heard some of the details of what she remembered, like how she remembered waking up in the car for a while and being in a lot of pain, feeling the blood on her face, and just screaming for her Mom.

It was after that video went up that they made social media accounts that were instantly flooded with followers and requests for what they wanted their next videos to be. It was insane for both of them to get verified online as if they were celebrities, the students at University knowing who they were because they'd seen the videos.

They kept making a mixture of videos over the next couple of months too, serious videos about what Kath had gone through and about the surgery, as well as monthly updates on the pregnancy and how that was going, and that was mixed in with random vlogs DJ made of their lives as they got things ready for the baby and looked for their own place to live.

They graduated from University, too, both of them achieving extremely high grades and Kath received a lot of praise for her EP at the same time as DJ received a lot of praise for his creative writing dissertation - the start of a novel he was working on. Marlann got praised for her EP too, and although Pamu had graduated along with her friends, she was still working at the hospital - she had a job already secured for when she was fully qualified and the entire family was so proud of her and all the work she'd put into what she does. She and Marlann even had their own house since Pamu was earning decent money at the hospital and Marlann found a job in a music store for the time being, whilst she looked for something better. Although DJ and Kath made decent money doing the videos online - more than either of them expected to make - DJ found a job working in a baby store at the Mall. It was an extra income and it was useful since DJ could use his staff discount towards all the things they needed for Kaia.

"So, they put you on baby duty today?" Kath teased as she came into the living room, seeing Pamu sat on the couch watching TV and Pamu laughed, sitting up straighter when Kath sat down on the couch, having to use the back of the couch to help lower herself down.

"It's my day off and everybody else is at work and Jordan, as much as he loves you, has school and then soccer." Pamu laughed, but she sighed as Kath winced. "It's getting hard now, huh?"

"I don't know how I'm gonna last ten more days of this until my due date - my back feels like it's snapping in half," Kath mumbled.

"You want a hot water bottle or an ice pack or something?" Pamu offered, but Kath shook her head.

"Did DJ tell you that I'm sleeping mostly down here now?"

"Yeah, he told me and it was in your video... your bed too soft?" She guessed and Kath nodded her head.

"It's crowded in my room with all of Kaia's things in there too," Kath said, running her fingers through her hair. "Can you keep a secret?" Kath asked with a small smile and Pamu laughed.

"I have a lot of secrets about Marlann that I'll take to the grave - hit me with it," Pamu said and Kath couldn't help but laugh.

"Marlann has secrets?"

"Sex secrets." Pamu clarified, bursting out laughing as Kath blushed. "Tell me what you wanna tell me! You can't tease me like that and not tell me." Pamu complained and Kath grinned.

"DJ and I put an offer in on that house we saw last month - the one that's in between Mom, Dad, and you guys," Kath said and Pamu grinned.

"That's amazing! Did you get it?"

"Yeah! And the owners are literally so happy because they already have an offer accepted on another house, so they've already moved out. Are you free to help us move in this time next week? We wanna get everything in before my due date, so we can bring Kaia home from the hospital to our own place." Kath said and Pamu smiled, nodding her head.

"Yeah, of course! Are you gonna tell everybody else over dinner on Sunday when we're all together?"

"That was the plan, but I'm too excited to just not tell at least one person," Kath admitted, making Pamu laugh.

"I'm glad I'm the one person you blurted it out to... are you sure you're okay? You're a little pale." Pamu said and Kath sighed.

"It just hurts... I'm going to the bathroom."

"I'll get you some water, okay?" Pamu said, helping Kath to stand and Kath went into the bathroom but it was as she pushed her sweatpants down that she felt the pressure.

"PAMU!" Kath screamed and Pamu dropped everything, running into the bathroom and her eyes widened.

Kath's waters had broken.
