The last row was empty
Except for one seat
He was smiling gently
While tapping his feet.

You might think that his smile
Was honest and real
But if you'd look for a while
It's cold as steel.

A flash of blue and a memory
Back to the place he calls home
Where his mother is screaming in agony
While empty beer bottles are thrown.

A flash of blue and terrible pain
As the bottle hits his head
Getting dragged away, but it is in vain
Maybe he's better off dead.

His father is shouting
Throwing glass at the two
His saviour is running
Dragging the boy with him too.

Leaving his mother with a monster called 'father'
He opens his eyes again
All he sees is a smile - feeling calmer
A blue shirt, soaked wet from the rain.

Now his father is gone - forever in court
His happy end just begun
The terror is over, everything's done
Hes never again getting hurt.

The last row was empty
Except for one seat
Hes smiling gently
While tapping his feet.

And suddenly he wasn't alone anymore
Somebody taking the other chair
And even though his head is still sore
Hes smiling at the boy with black hair.

His eyes are sparkling for the first time in years
His smile so big it hurt
He always forgot about all of his fears
Because of the boy in the blue shirt.
