Unable to help herself, she began to shuffle nervously in her little shoes. At the sweet age of six, Liliana felt the first pang of rejection. The couple who came into the orphanage were looking for a little girl, and Liliana thought she could be the one.

However, the couple turned up their large noses at the sight of her, her bright ginger hair disgusted them, as did the multiple freckles on her nose and her too large blue eyes. To most people, Liliana was a beautiful little girl, but to them she was a disgusting little creature. And they made sure to tell her their opinions on the matter.

From then on, Liliana never focused on getting adopted, she focused on learning and learning to survive in the murky streets in Birmingham. She was allowed to go to school once a week, because it was unbecoming of a girl to go to school for longer periods of time due to her class. The children there were mean and callous.

But because of the school, she learnt how to read, and do simple maths. That was all she needed, because she could teach herself the more important aspects of her education. The woman who ran the orphanage hated her for it, she often told her that no man likes a smart woman. Which she thought was the biggest joke, as if she would lower herself to a man that couldn't appreciate an independent woman.

She didn't care for stupid boys anyway; they were all immature creeps. She cared more about trying to survive, not find a husband or a partner.
