TW: Attempted rape.
Third POV.
The car ride there was quiet, the two were stuck in their own world. One was worrying for what was about to come, and one was worrying about how they were going to afford to buy a bed. Two relevant problems.
When they arrived, Thomas pulled up and walked over to her side, he offered her his arm and she gripped onto it with gratitude as they begin to walk into place.
"Are you sure we're allowed in here?" Liliana asks, looking around as they enter through the back.
"Well, I prefer to come to the races the back way. It keeps me out of trouble. Tracks are lawless places. I can't stand petty criminals. This way." She follows him in amusement, some would say that him and his family are classed as petty criminals.
"Will we get to bet, Mr. Shelby?" She asks him as they turn a corner.
"Nah. Gambling is for mugs. This way. You're lucky you're with me or you'd be wasting your money on fixed races."
"As if... I can barely afford to pay rent; I wouldn't want to waste it on horses." Thomas looks to her and shakes his head gently; they then enter through a red door and walk down a hallway.
"Okay, you do the talking." Liliana looks to him with uncertainty in her blue eyes.
"Eh?" She grips onto his arm tighter, feeling the muscle under his suit.
"Tell security you are Lady Sarah Duggan," He avoids some people. "Lady Sarah Duggan. Tell them you got lost when you went to look for the boy riding your horse, Dandy Flower." She rolls her eyes at the name. "If they ask about me, say that I'm Prussian and don't speak a word of English." Liliana smirks a little and nods, she can put on a show if she needs to.
They walk up to a man, and Thomas looks to Liliana and nods. She smiles and speaks.
They were stood watching some musicians perform, the two of them were clearly bored as they watched the women dance. "I still prefer the Garrison," She looks to Thomas and smirks a little, admiring how his hair was slightly mussed from his hat. It was nice seeing him looking so relaxed, he had a cigarette dangling from his fingers while his pretty blue eyes were wandering her body. He looked stunning and she had to keep her eyes from wandering. "Do you want to dance?"
Her eyes light up in a mischievous light and he smirks at this, knowing just how cheeky she can be, he prepares himself for her sweetness. "Is that any way for a gentleman to ask a lady to dance?" He lets out a quiet chuckle as her eyes brighten at his smiling face.
"Lady Sarah Duggan, will you do me the pleasure and honour of dancing me?" He smirks lightly down at her, she smiles brightly at him and nods, amused with him. He holds his hand out for her to take, and he grasps it gently and leads them to the dance floor.
They join the couple's dancing and he holds her tightly to him as they move in time with the beat. She smiles as they move, inhaling slightly, he smelled divine. She dances happily in his strong arms, unaware of the many looks she was getting from married men, some women and the one and only Billy Kimber, she giggles slightly every time Thomas spins her.
He grins at her as she stares into his eyes, she was so incredibly innocent while also being street smart and intelligent. Her pureness would either ruin her or make her, and he felt guilt for what he was about to do to her. He didn't want to ruin her trust in him, but he needed to get Kimber's attention. And her presence was enough to distract him or make him agree to the deal if he got to do with whatever he wanted with the beautiful ginger.
