Y/N POV
My first day at a new school. Again. Another few months of being the outcast, and then I'll be moving on again. It's normal to me by now. Go to a new school, cause some chaos, move on. It's basically a routine by now. Friends don't stay very long, so theres no need to make any. Just do what I need to do, have some fun, and move on. Move on, Y/N.
I arrive at the building, and I won't lie, its an absolute piece of shit. I walk up to the school, and people already send glares my way. I flip off numerous people, and push the glass door open with force. My fingertips get a feeling of the cold glass as I open the door, slamming it back on my new classmates behind me. I look up and around, and take in my surroundings. I sigh, and try and find the office.
After a while, I can't find the office. I groan, and look around. I spot a rather tiny girl, and walk up to her. "Yo. You. Know where the office is?" I ask the petite girl. She grasps my hand. "Wow." She says to me, "troubled childhood I see." She finishes. I pull my hand away from her. "The fuck?" I say, looking at her with a glare. "Your aura. It reads like an open book. Are you in trouble?" She asks me. "No, but you'll be if you don't show me where the fucking office is." I say. "No need to shout. I know behind that tough exterior is a happy, loving person." She says to me, showing me to the office. I give her a small smile, and she walks away.
I enter the office, and look at the lady at the desk. "Schedule." I say. "Please." "You are?" She asks. "Y/N L/N." The woman hands me my schedule, and I head to homeroom. As I enter, I see the girl again. Damn it, I think to myself. I never got her name. Not that I need it. I walk towards the back of the room, and sit in a seat. I see the girl glance at me from across the room. She sends me a cute smile, and I give a small smile back. She walks over, and sits by me.
I don't say anything to her, looking away. "There is no need to ignore me. I just genuinely would like to befriend you." She says. I groan, and stick my hand out towards her. She accepts it, and I shake her hand. "I'm Y/N. You?" "Dawn." She says to me, her soft voice dragging me in. Is this...a crush?
Time flies fast, and it is eventually lunch time. I scan the room with a quick glance for Dawn, and spot her at a table with a few others. I hesitantly walk over, chuckling to myself. "Oh, Y/N." She says, smiling. "I have missed you." She says, moving over so I have room to be seated. I reluctantly sit down beside her, and she introduces me to her friend group. I say hi, poking at the food on my plate.
When school is done, I go to my locker to grab my things, and a small piece of pastel lined paper falls out, swooshing around in the breeze and landing perfectly on the ground in front of me. I bend over, and pick it up. 'Meet me at the front of the school' I laugh, and crumple the paper into a rigid ball. As Harold walks past me, I throw it at the back of his head, throw down my skateboard, and head off. "Hey! Gosh..." He calls out to me, as I speed out of the school.
I pass classmates as I skate off, the breeze blowing in my face. For once, I feel refreshed. I speed up, going down the street with elegance. I finally make it home. I greet my (parent/guardian) and head into my room. I turn on my (favorite song) and blast it over the speakers on my computer. I dance around my room, singing the lyrics loudly. I sit down, starting up my homework. Maybe this school will be different.
Each day, I would get another letter. And every time, I wouldn't meet up with the person. It had simply become part of my day at this point. Find letter, crumple up, and throw at nearest nerd. Although these notes were interesting, I figured that I shouldn't go. That was until about a month into getting these letters. This person just was not giving up.
I enter the school building, and find Dawn. We go through our normal day routine, and the day soon comes to an end. I arrive at my locker once again, grabbing my skateboard and seeing another perfectly written note. 'Meet me at the coffee shop. For real this time. You won't regret it.' It reads. I groan, making the paper into a ball and launching it at Duncan, someone who I had actually gotten pretty close to. He stuck his tongue out at me, and I stuck my middle finger up at him, skating away.
I skate towards my house, and come to a stop when I realize where I am. I could turn right, towards my house, or left, towards the coffee shop that I am apparently wanted at. I go to turn right, but quickly turn around and speed down the street towards the coffee shop that I would go to on occasion.
I reach the shop, pick up my board, and open the door. The aroma of coffee and freshly baked goods slaps me in the face as I go and order a hot chocolate. I take a seat at a table in the corner, facing away from the entrance of the store. I sit for a while, as I sip slowly on my drink. I think about leaving, as I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around, my eyes coming in contact with Dawn's. I smile at her. "What are you doing here?" I ask her. "Waiting for you." She says, sitting across from me.
"You're the one leaving me the notes?!" I ask her, my face covered in disbelief. "Indeed." She says, giving me a smile. That smile. It melts me. "But why?" I ask. "Because, Y/N. I think I may like you. As in, like like you." My face goes red. "Ever since we met, your aura has drawn me in Y/N. And that is why I would like to ask you...will you be my girlfriend?" She asks, and I smile widely at her. I give her a small kiss. "Yes." I whisper. "And this can be our first date." I add.
We both get a muffin and talk, remembering some amazing things we have done together. I am like a puzzle, and Dawn was my missing piece. And now, I think...I am finally complete. This time, I do not have to move on. I have found my other half.
