I sit, swaying my legs back and forth as Chris announces the challenge. A talent show, I think to myself. I sigh, knowing that I wont be any help to the competition. I walk over to my team, who are already deciding who will participate in today's challenge. "Oh oh! I can do something!" Owen tells us. I glance at him. "What is it?" I ask. "A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V!!" He burps out. I sigh. "That's...great Owen." I say, trying to be nice.
"There's no way he's doing that!" Heather exclaims. "Why not?" I ask. "He obviously has more talent than you do." I say, rolling my eyes at the dark haired girl. The girl scoffs. "Actually, I have already been chosen to perform today, so I obviously have more talent than all of you combined!" She says, smirking at me. "And who chose you?" I ask. "Myself." She starts. "Beth and Lindsay as well." I look over at the girls, their expressions not changing. "Right girls?!" Heather asks. "Oh uh, yeah!" Lindsay says, as Beth nods.
Eventually, Justin gets picked too. "We need one more person." Lindsay points out to us. "Yeah, I know." Heather says, scoffing at the blonde. "Uh...maybe I can sing?" I ask the girls, smiling a bit. "Ugh, no way you gothic hippie!" She says to me. My smile quickly disappears. I frown, sighing. "Alright..." I say. Heather smirks at me. "Any other ideas?" She asks. I look away, picking at my nails.
"No way." Gwen says. "Have you heard Y/N sing?! She's like, the most talented person on this island! She's singing tonight." Gwen protests, glaring at Heather. My face automatically flushes, turning a shade of red. I hide my face quickly. "She's not singing." Heather says. "Yes she is. Who agrees with me?" She asks, and the team agrees to let me sing. Lindsay smiles and nods, also agreeing. "Lindsay!" Heather says, and the girls expression goes blank.
"So it's settled. Y/N, your singing." Heather says, with an angry expression. I nod, looking towards Gwen. She stood up for me...why? I think to myself, a blush forming on my face from just thinking about her. I stare at her, thinking about how she feels about me. I quickly look away when she turns my way.
"So it's me...Justin's uh...thing. And Heather." I say to our team. "So let's get out there and win this thing!" I say, smiling.
"Welcome to the very first Camp Wawanakwa... Talent Contest. Where six campers will showcase their mad skills and desperately try not to humiliate themselves." Chris exclaims.
Justin goes up first, then DJ. It's now my turn. I walk up on stage slowly with my guitar, smiling shyly when I sit down. "This song is for someone who has really uh...shown me kindness here at camp and uh...yeah." I say, adjusting my glasses and starting to strum

I stand up, taking off my glasses and getting into the song. I tap my foot to the beat, smiling.

I finish the song with a small smile, carefully putting my glasses on. People cheer for me, and my rating is fairly good. I walk off stage, and eventually it's Heather's turn. She goes on stage with a book. Is that Gwen's diary?!
"Originally, I was going to dance for you. But instead, I want to celebrate team spirit, with a collaboration" Heather starts, "So, with words by Gwen, performance by me, enjoy. 'So I'm trying to ignore her, but she's just so cute. The way she zones out while still looking so perfect just makes me melt. I'm just scared to say anything, because I don't know if she's into girls. But I'm into you, Y/N M/N L/N.'" Heather finishes with an evil smirk.
I look towards Gwen blushing, and she runs away. "Gwen!" I call out, but she keeps running. "You think you're funny Heather?!" I ask, walking onto the stage. "What? Mad that I exposed her? You should be glad, I figured out that you had a stalker." She says. "Gwen isn't a stalker, and she's one of the sweetest people here!" I say, pushing Heather. "Suck a dick." I say, running off to find Gwen.
I hear a soft sniffle coming from behind the cabins. "Gwen?" I ask. "Go away.." She says, her voice muffled. I walk over to her, holding her hand. "Gwen. It's okay." "No it's not...you probably think I'm some weird gay freak." She says, sniffling. "No, I don't. I actually feel the same way about you. That song I sang, it was for you." I say, and she blushes a bit. "Now let's go get some revenge on that bitch." I say, kissing her quickly and walking with her back to the stage.
