---AU- During Total Drama Island
Y/N POV
It was an early morning, and I was taking a quick jog around Camp Wawanakwa, my home for the next few weeks, to wake myself up. I ran with agility, speeding around the tall trees, hearing leaves under my (type of shoes) as I pick up the pace. See, it was only day 2 on this island, and I already knew that if I wanted to win, I would need to be a good competitor. And that means getting ready and in shape for any challenges our strange host Chris would throw at me and my team, the Screaming Gophers. I slow down as I reach the end of my 2nd lap around the terrain, catching my breath and splashing some cold water from my canteen on my face. I shake my head and wipe my eyes, getting any water out of the way so I could see my surroundings.
Now I won't lie, this camp is a completely strange place, and I can't exactly figure out what it is about this island that makes it so bizarre. But I know in my gut that something is up around here. I just haven't been able to put my finger on it. It was like what I was searching for was on the tip of my tongue, but I just couldn't grasp it.
I shake the thoughts out of my head, and look at the watch carefully fixated on my wrist. '4 AM' The tiny clock reads, and I groan. Who knows when the challenge will start? I sit carefully on the steps of the cabin, being careful to not be too loud. I take out my IPod and plug my earbuds in, browsing through my playlist for the best song to start my day with.
I put on (favorite song), and started to tap my foot to the beat. I listened carefully to the lyrics, trying to put together the meaning of them in my mind. I started to hum, continuing to tap my foot. Soon my humming turned into soft singing. I shut my (eye color) eyes and sang to myself, thinking about my friends back home. This song reminds me of them.
Jude, Caitlin, Nikki, Wyatt, Jen, and Jonesy. Those 6 never failed to put a smile on my face. And man, I really miss them. I wonder if they are watching this show. I bet they are all laughing at the Lemon without me. I really hope they are all doing well. I sigh, thinking about my friends. Why couldn't it be easy to make friends here like it was back home? The only people I really talk to are Noah and Owen. Nothing wrong with those two, but there is only so much of Owen's farting that I can take.
I skip to the next song, trying to forget about my other friends having fun without me. I hear the start to another of my favorite songs, and start to sing again. I slowly move my head to the beat, smiling to myself. I suddenly feel someone staring at me. I turn around with a swift motion, and hit the person behind me. I look to see who it was, and see Cody laying on the floor, holding his stomach in pain. "Oh fuck." I say, instantly feeling bad for the boy that I had just punched.
"It's...okay.." He says, clearly trying to regain his breath. I sigh at him. I look at the teen reluctantly, standing up and extending my hand out to him to help him up. He stares at me for a moment, his eyes lit up. "You gonna get up?" I ask him, but he continues to stare at me with a loving gaze. I groan at the scrawny kid, pulling him up on my own. He blushes at me, and then awkwardly smiles. "Th-thanks." He stutters out at me.
I look at the boy with a smirk. "No problem Cody." I say, putting my fist out for a fist bump. He grabs my fist at first, then quickly takes his hand back, extending his hand back out, now in a fist. He gives me a fist bump, and I laugh at his antics. "Calm down dude. Never talk to a chick before?" I ask, and giggle. His face goes red, and he looks down. "Chill out, I was joking." I say to the anxious boy. I motion him to sit down next to me, and hold out one of my earbuds to him.
He looks at me and flashes me a smile. "Thanks gorgeous." He says, trying to flirt with me. I roll my eyes, and put the ear bud in his hand. My hand stays on his for a moment, and I quickly pull away, my face going a bit pink. I set the IPod down in the middle of Cody and I, and start humming the song. He hums along with me, him being extremely off key. I giggle at him. "Cody, honey, no." I say. He looks at me, smirking. "What? Can't handle my epic humming skills?" He asks, putting finger guns up at me. "That's not it at all." I say. "You don't need to try so hard when you hum." I say, smiling. "Relax your body." I put my hand on his shoulder, and he stiffens up at my touch.
I guide him into a comfortable position. "Don't focus on humming. Let it come to you." I say. "Let it come to me. Got it." He repeats me, and I roll my eyes. I continue humming, and he slowly catches on, humming a perfect melody with me after about 30 minutes of trial and error. "Yes!" I exclaim, bringing Cody into a hug. His face flushes, and he hugs back softly. "You did it! I'm so proud." I say, booping his nose. "Thanks Y/N." He says, and I nod at him. I rest myself on Cody, and he places his head on top of mine.
We sit there for a while, until we hear an airhorn, and Chris's loud voice booming. Cody jumps, spilling my water all over the both of us. "You dork!" I exclaim playfully, splashing some of my leftover water on him. He grabs his bottle, squeezing some of it onto me. I gasp, pulling my earbuds out of our ears and tossing the IPod to the side. I splash Cody once more, and run towards where Chris told us to meet him. "Y/N!" Cody yells, running after me with his bottle.
And that was the start of a great friendship, and soon after, more.
