After that, I didn't know what to do.

I was now officially homeless.

That first night was the worst.

I drove to a place with free parking and slept in the car for a while, but I knew I couldn't live in my car, certainly not while I was pregnant.

I could have driven back to my hometown, but I didn't feel like facing Daniel and I's families.

That first night, I stayed in my car.

The next morning, I made up my mind. I would go to Gabrielle's house, to see what my options were. I now felt so glad the Gabby had insisted on living near Daniel and me.

When I arrived at Gabrielle's house, I got out od the car and leaned on the doorbell. Gabby opened the door right away and squealed when she saw me, hugging me very tightly.

"Ow, Gabby. Watch it, there's a kid in there," I complained when she squeezed the wrong spot.

"A KID?! What? Are you-" Gabrielle's faced widened in surprise.

"Oh. Oh. OH! You better come in and tell me everything. Where's Daniel, Why is that car jam-packed? Why do you look so upset?"

Gabby quickly but gently shoved in her house, and into the living room.

As soon as I sat down, I burst into tears. I explained everything through sniffling and wailing. Gabby was a good listener, watching me intently and comforting me.

After I told her I or the kid didn't have a place to stay and to be safe. She instantly agreed that I could live with her until I got a job, be stable in finance, and birthed my child.

Gabrielle was very excited. She was excited to be living together again, to be an auntie, and to 'have a bestie to hang out with again.'
