Rodrick Moore 2:30 pm Downtown Chicago
I parked my car in front of Joy's record store as I was about to walk in I took a glance from the window seeing that it was Janelle taking a look around the store. I walked inside quickly throwing the bag I had over my shoulder behind the counter where Joy stood at.
"Well hello to you too" she chuckled going back to writing her notes. I waved her off walking up to Janelle, who was currently going through the CDs.
"Oh Al Green? What you know about Al Green? I said giving her a small smile. She looked up at me pushing her glasses back a bit.
"Rodrick...right?" She said and went back looking through the CDs. I chuckled a bit to myself. I see she's playing hard to get but I like a challenge.
"Say uh—you mind if I, play you a little something real quick?" I asked. She turned her head looking back at me again.
"I don't know, see the last time you went on an impose, you embarrassed the shit out of me." She chuckled folding her arms.
I looked away then back at her laughing with her. "Look this will be easy, I promise" I said holding my pinky up to her.
"Really?" She laughed. "Promise is a promise right?". She shrugged her shoulders as she brought her pinky finger up wrapping it around mines. I unwrapped my finger from hers walking off to the records picking out a song before putting it in the record player.
Once I found the one I placed it in and let the song play throughout the store. She stood there listening to the song as she staring at Rodrick before speaking.
"It's kind of sad" She said as the Charlie Parker record played. "Melancholy maybe, but not sad. There's a difference, I think" I said back to her.
"Maybe your right" she smiled at me walking over to Joy with the CDs she had in her hand.
After her purchase she was about to walk out the door but Rodrick stopped her by grabbing her hand. "Hey I was wondering if I could take you out some time?" I asked.
She removed her hand from mines as she caress my cheek. "I'll think about it" she smiled opening the door walking out.
"You like her? Don't you?" Joy asked. "Yeah I do" I tried to hide my smile by looking down at my shoes.
"Aww Rodrick got a little crush on Janelle". I cut my eyes at her. "Shut up Joy".

"Girl you playing. If I was you I would've said yes to that date" Simonè said on the three-way FaceTime call.
"Girl hush. Before I tell David" I told her. She went quiet quick. Then we both heard Bleú ass laughing loud while having us on pause.
"Aht Aht what's funny we wanna laugh to?" I said crossing my arms looking at the screen waiting for her to take us off pause.
"Right like damn, I wanna hear the joke" Simonè said.
She took us off pause with a straight face mugging us. "So who got you weak miss mamas?" Simonè tilted her head to side clashing her hands together.
"My man" she said with a smirk. I almost spit out my water because this was some new shit to me. "Who's this mysterious man?" I asked her putting my water bottle down on the counter.
"Y'all will meet him soon, that's all I'm gonna say". "Mmcht Cap!" Simonè said. "Shut up Simonè I ain't cappin y'all are going to meet him soon trust me" she smiled.
"Well is he treating our good sis right?" I asked her grabbing my bag from the record store earlier.
"Yes, he is, he's sweet and kind I can't wait until y'all meet him" she spoke so highly of him . I'm glad she's happy that's all that matters.
"Good, because if he ain't. I won't hesitate to make that one phone call on speed dial" Simonè spoke.
I shook my head at the both of them as they started arguing. I drifted off thinking about Rodrick. I don't know it's something about him that makes me even more attractive to him not by his looks of course because he definitely looks good but I wanna get to know him a bit more.
I should of said yes to the date. Never know we might run into each other again.
