Author's Note: Merry Christmas guys! have you done your Christmas shopping yet? I certainly haven't. Anyways I hope you enjoy this Christmas special!
"Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?" Calum asks me while mixing a bowl of red velvet cake batter. I reply him while scrolling for some Christmas presents through my phone on an online store. "I'm doing it now."
"That's quite late to do this. I mean today is Christmas Eve." Calum says while testing the cake batter. His face cringes as he tastes it. "Too sweet?" I say walking over to him. He takes a teaspoon out of the kitchen cupboard and dips the spoon in and puts the spoon in my mouth. I cringe as well. "You put salt in this?!"
"Blame the salt! It looks exactly like sugar!" He points at it accusingly.
"No it doesn't. Sugar has bigger grains than salt. Salt has finer grains."
Calum picks up the jar that has salt in it and goes to grab the sugar jar. He stares at it and nods in agreement. "Hmm...the salt does have finer grains."
"Can I say it?" I say placing my hands together, interlacing my fingers. Calum sighs and nods. "I told you so." I say to him and start laughing hysterically. He walks over to me and snakes his arms around me. "Has it already been a year?"
I stop laughing, still chuckling. "Was has been a year?"
"Our relationship."
"Yeah." I smile softly as he brings his face closer to mine. Is he going to do it? Is he finally? He slowly brings his lips close to mine and his lips touches mine. It doesn't move. I wait. He wraps his arms even tighter on my body, pressing my body against his. My chest presses on top of his chest and he starts to move his lips.
This is our first kiss together on Christmas. You don't know how long I waited for this day. This kiss sends tingles through my entire body. There is definitely sparks between us. Most definitely.
"Did you just use my credit card? Because if yo-" Mom says as she comes into the kitchen. We push each other away and smile awkwardly at each other. Mom places her hands on her hips and glares at us. "There is a minor in this house. If you two can't control yourself, Calum, you are not invited. "
The minor was Chelsea. She was only 7 so we couldn't help but say yes. Mom went over to the bowl of cake batter and tasted it. "Who made this crap?"
"Mom...there is a minor."
"Who made this?" She says again.
I point at Calum. "Why does it taste salty? Did you put salt in this?" Mom asks him.
"Yeah, I mistaken salt for sugar. Sorry. I'll pay you back." Calum says looking down at e floor, rubbing the back of his neck. "You'd better. I had to save three months of my salary to get these ingredients ready before Christmas." Mom says and leaves the kitchen. My mom is in a much better state now. She has finally has finally been enlightened that people will leave us one day. We will leave one day. When they do, they will be in a better place. They will be reborn. In a another life. As another being. She has finally let go of dad's death. I have too. We know that dad will always be in our hearts.
"How much was it?"
"About 50 bucks. Cough it up. You're a famous photographer now."
"Oh I see, so because I'm rich now you think I always have money on me?" He takes out his wallet as he says it and passes it to me. We're 20 now. It's just amazing how his pictures rose to fame and he became a famous photographer in just months. He slips the 50 dollar bill in my back pocket, squeezing my butt (A/N: I'm sorry this word is just so funny! 😂) along the way. I slap his hand and he smiles at me cunningly. "You have got them buns."
