She looked down at her belly but this time she was smiling. "I have to tell him today."
"Yes, you do."
"But how do I tell him?"
"I don't know. But he needs to know."
She looked up at me and asked, "Will you come with me?"
"Of course. But you know he won't get mad, right?"
"I know. I know. I... just need the support."
"Okay. I'll go with you."
I helped Easter walk to the benches. She sat down and I said, "I'll go find Cody."
"Okay." She put a hand on her stomach, she was smiling.
I smiled and walked away.
They were in the piano room. Cody was sitting with Louis talking, while Louis was playing the piano.
He was playing "My Darling Clementine". My heart skipped a beat.
I shook my head so I could stay focused on the task at hand. "Cody, Easter wants to tell you something." I tried to say it with a straight face, but I couldn't help but smile.
He looked confused but at ease. So that's good. I didn't want to panic him.
He stood up and walked back to Easter.
She saw us and too her hand off her stomach. She smiled.
Cody sat down next to her. I sat down on the opposite side of the table.
She turned to Cody, "I have something I want to tell you."
He nodded for her to continue.
"Cody... I'm pregnant."
It took a minute for it to register. But when it did, he had the biggest smile on his face.
He kept looking from her face to her stomach and back. She nodded.
He hugged her, she hugged him back. He asked, "How far along?"
"One month. Snow told me a couple of days ago."
Nothing could wipe the smiles off their faces. Then the patrol yelled, "Walkers."
Well except that.
