"MA'AM, this are all the proposed plans for the upcoming hotel project in Makati" kinakabahang inilahad saakin ng secretary ko ang mahigit tatlong folders. It was Trisha, magkaedad lang kami at siya na ang secretary ni daddy bago paman ako pumalit sakanya.

Napataas ang tingin ko sa mga iyon. I raised my eyebrow when I saw the cover page of the first proposed project.

"It this all they got? I already gave them two days but even the cover photo is not pleasing in my eyes!" iritang sabi ko sa secretary ko.

Can they do their jobs properly. Kauuwi ko lang galing sa States at isang linggo ko palang na take over ang posisyon bilang CEO ng company namin pero napakaraming problema at aalalahanin.

"Tell them to come up with a nice coverpage and after an hour I want to see all of them in my office!" sigaw ko at dali-dali nang lumabas ang secretary ko.

Constuction and architectural firm is our business. My dad is already too old to handle it. I am an architect but because I am the only child I take over the business. It has been more than 5 years when I flew to US, continued my architecture and at the same time studied business there to properly take care our company.

I can say that our company is one of the best construction and architectural firm in the country. I value my skills in architecture and that is my dream but I cannot do anything about it because I have to take care of this goddamned business.

Napaangat ang tingin ko sa telepono sa gilid ng magring ito. I stopped signing the papers to answer the call.

"Yes?"

[Dear, are you coming home? Your phone just keeps on ringing so I called on the telephone]

It's mom. Mom is a fashion designer and all I could say na sa sobrang hilig niya sa shopping at sa pagpapaganda ay parang nagaya ko narin iyon.

Napahawak ako sa ulo ko at napababa ako nang tingin sa lahat ng papel na nakakalat sa lamesa ko. What a mess!

"Mom, you know what I am doing here. Maraming gagawin pa I can't go home"

Because our company is one of the best firm, we can't ignore every opportunities given to us. Most of the papers in my table are proposals from the different clients trying to negotiate with us to build and design their buildings or properties. Mostly hotel pero meron ding mga resorts, condominiums or even mansions from different known celebrities and politicians.

[Sweetheart please go home, I will cook dinner and your dad's apprentice will also be here.] napakunot ang noo ko. So?! Anong kinalaman ko sa apprentice ni Dad?

My dad is a famous engineer. Most of his projects before our business was outside the country, all successful and highly praised kaya ng magpatayo siya dito sa Pilipinas ng firm hindi rin nagtagal ay sumikat ito at ito na ang pinagkakatiwalaan ng kung sino mang gustong magpatayo ng iba't-ibang vertical structures.

"Mom, I know you can eat with Dad's apprentice without me. Bakit dala ko ba dito yung plato na dapat nandyan ako?" may pagkainis na sabi ko kay mommy.

[Sweetheart, your Dad's apprentice will be working with you in the company so it's better to be here! He's from Dubai after his big project! And finally he will work with us and I'm so happy!] napaseryoso ako ng makitang ang tagal na ng usapan namin sa telepono.

Sana tatlong proposals na ang nabasa ko kung hindi si Mommy nanggugulo!

"Mom, I can't promise... but I hope I can finish this early to be there" after that I ended the call.
