Chapter 3

He still could not believe it. He was in shock. He didn't know how he got here- the mountain of the gods. He felt something glowing, coming from his neck. He took his necklace off, as it was glowing bright. It was a necklace he had found after his parents had died, and somehow gave him hope. It had a picture of a woman's face on it, a woman he did not know, but felt like he had met before. Whenever he looked at the necklace, he saw a memory, or pieces of a memory, but he could not put it together. A gleam of light suddenly appeared in front of him, in the form of a doe, and he knew at once which doe it was. He then knew that the doe was not a real animal but had come from the necklace. The necklace had led him here, a place where he could feel nostalgia run through his veins.

He knew at once this was the work of the woman, the woman's face that was on the necklace. He hoped to see her, to thank her for leading him here, the place he always wanted to be.

Now, the only struggle was to get to the top of the mountain. He was quite baffled as to how to go about this, as it was quite a tall mountain and he could not get to the top simply. Skiffin was looking at the mountain longingly, then concentrated hard on it. He then flew off Andrew's shoulder and looked up to the mountain and came down again, gripping onto Andrew's clothes. Confused, he said:

"Skiffin, what are you doing?" The bird, with one fell swoop, gripped harder onto his shoulders, and before he knew it, he was off the ground.

"Skiffin! Let me go!" He tweeted very angrily this time, and Andrew knew that debating with him was going to be in vain. He was confused as to how the bird could lift someone much taller and heavier than him. In no time, he could see the peak of Mount Olympus, and it was beautiful. A lake passed through the whole place, along with pillars that mounted ever so high, to the point where he could not see where they ended. The gods were casually strolling about the place, they were wearing gowns of a material he could not even name, maybe it was only for them. He then saw a great hall, he had heard of this from his parents, they told him that it was where the gods made their decisions and would come together for discussion. It was laden with gold and marble pillars as white as snow, and inside he could just about see a flame.

His parents had said that the flame in the hall was the flame of Hestia, goddess of the hearth, which, not only gave the gods hope when they were at an end but, of course, gave them warmth. Suddenly, he felt a force pull him back, and he knew it was not Skiffin. He tried to scream for help but none of the gods could see. He then found himself at the entrance of Mount Olympus, where gates of about fifteen feet stood before him, guarded by two yellow looking humans, that had an unusual glow about them.

"Halt!" the man on the right said.

"Ugh, so colourless. There is only one type of people that look like this- those puny mortals!"

"Hey!" Andrew shouted, defensively. "This puny mortal has got up to Mount Olympus!"

"Speaking of that, how did you get past the waterfall, there is a special guardian there. He never lets anyone through, not anyone he deems fit anyway..."

"He let me through, and my bird helped me get up." The men laughed.

"Zorus!" the man on the right said, "did you hear that? A bird brought him up here!" He kept laughing.

"I heard it Porus! Imagine!" Skiffin looked at him angrily, then tweeted the loudest he could which deafened the guards but did not hurt Andrew in any way.

"Oh, didn't I tell you?" Andrew said, cheerily. "My bird doesn't warm to strangers. Now, you would do well to let me past these gates, for if my bird can do such things, what do you think I am possible of?" Scared, the guards ran for Zeus.
