Chapter 13

Athena was shocked completely. While she was being selfish and going out to sort all of her problems, four of her fellow comrades had fallen astray to this kidnapper.

"What? But Ares has already been exposed as the kidnapper!"

"Back to that later!" Eros shouted. "Where were you when this happened?"

"I was..." Aphrodite looked at her, scared. He couldn't know that she was going out to look for answers about him. "I went for a walk," she said, quickly.

"That is not convincing. It is suspicious that you were gone when this happened, and as soon as they were kidnapped, you came back!"

"Why would this be me? I do not have access to Greek fire!"

"But I do know that you are lying about your alibi. Where were you really?"

"I was looking for-"

"I would stop there if I were you, goddess," a random voice told her. "He knows more about you than you think, and you must heed Taurin's warning. This information could destroy everything." She knew that whoever the voice belonged to, what it said was true. She had to wait for the answers.

"I was on a walk," she said, confidently.

"Your alibi is not convincing. You are a suspect of the serial kidnappings, and hence will be sent to the dungeon." The gods all gasped.

"No, please!"

"As you do not have access to Greek fire, you are less of a suspect than Ares is, so you will be let out four times a day- once in the morning, once at noon, once just before sunset, and once at midnight. We will not speak anymore of the matter. Guards!" The guards put her hands behind her and tied them with rope. She pleaded for innocence, but she was still sent to the dungeon.

"And what about Ares," Aphrodite asked, "he couldn't have possibly done this, so he should be free."

"He will not be free- he is still a suspect."

"But he couldn't have-"

"Hush! I am the Paramount Detective, and what I say goes! Now, I will be announcing new rules for the safety of Olympus. This place will be locked down- from now on Olympus will be closed- no one is to leave the borders until further notice." A big shield covered the very ends of Olympus.

"You can't do this!" Aphrodite protested. "This is our home, instead of blocking the place off, we must stand up to him!"

"Why would you be so stupid as to do such a thing? This is for the safety of Olympus, and if you don't like that, then maybe you should join Athena and Ares in the dungeon down there! Now, you are all dismissed." Skiffin tweeted angrily to the gods as if he were saying 'Listen to him.'

Aphrodite was quite alarmed. Eros had always seemed to be a nice person, but now he had changed. He wasn't the man he used to be when he kindly found Artemis' bracelet a few years ago. She couldn't shake off the fact that she knew him from somewhere, but she didn't know where or how. Athena had gone to look for answers and now she was in prison for a crime Aphrodite herself knew she would never commit. Aphrodite looked outside the window to see the darkness of Olympus. The nights had become much darker, but, not only that, it transformed into a place she did not want to call home.

It was midnight when the guards and Eros came into the dungeon. They went to Athena's cell to find her asleep and the guards opened the cell.

"You can go out now," they said, loudly so she would wake up.
