Chapter 17

Athena was shocked. She remembered how much of a kind soul he was before when he was on Olympus for the first time, and she was shocked at how he had transformed into such a dark creature.

"How could you do this? Why would you do this?"

"Simple! Olympus needs to fall for all it's done to me."

"Olympus didn't do anything; it was all Zeus!"

"Not quite goddess! You see, I was lied to all of my life. I am born of the Primordial Eros, the force of Love that stirred creation."

"Of course, the primor!"

"Indeed. Olympus will pay for all of its deeds it had done to me, by the destruction of Greece!"

"What?"

"Hah-hah, yes! I disguised myself as a Roman commanding officer, they will destroy Greece in its final battle, you don't stand a chance- their armies beat the size of Greece's 6 to 1. There's no way Greece will win, and I will have my revenge!"

"You won't go through with this!"

"Oh, all of them are nearly dead anyway, just a few more beatings and I will cast them down to Earth and at which point they will die at the Romans' hand!"

"But, the fire! You said only one with fire within him can-" Athena stopped and remembered that Zeus cast him down to burn into heaps of Greek fire when he was a babe, and he must've absolved it all.

"Yes, goddess! How would I ever know that when he threw me down, that would give me so much power later on! Now it seems I have my next two victims in sight!"

Eros transformed into his normal black robes and both of them, before they could move, disappeared as they were engulfed in flames.

Eros, after they were in his pit where all of the other gods were, transformed himself into his normal clothes and went to Ares' dungeon. Ares was quite literally broken, and Eros loved it.

He saw him, with scars, bruises, cuts, and blood dripping from various parts of his body. He opened the cell.

"Ares, good friend! How have you been since our last encounter?" Ares just looked at him, furious. Eros could almost see the fire raging through his body. "Well, I'll have you know that I have come to the conclusion that I think you should be let free." Eros could see a smile flicker from his face, he was purely happy.

"Y-you're not just saying that?"

"Of course not! In fact, I'll lead you out now." Ares followed him, but they were descending from the cells, not ascending.

"A-aren't w-we going the wrong way?"

"Do you want me to let you free?" Ares made sure to be quiet. They went to a place that was pitch black, but they had a candle. Ares could see the floor was bright red and he thought it felt like it was moving. "This," Eros said, smiling evilly at him, "is the last layer of Earth on top of Tartarus."

"Why have you led me here?"

"Oh, I don't think I made it clear! I know who the kidnapper is!"

"You do? Who is it?"

Eros whispered to him: "Me." Ares looked shocked.

"Y-you? Then why have you let me suffer?"

"Do you think I am stupid? I needed someone in jail so that no one would suspect me, of course!" I know all of the times you tried to kill me when you were training me, Ares." Ares suddenly remembered Andrew, by the couldn't believe it, he was so soppy and nice before and now he had committed a bigger crime than Ares ever did.
